I understand there is a lot involved (money) in getting music on the radio. If a major label is really in your corner, they can put up the money and get it done. If radio wants to play certain artists a lot they will. And all of them are not big stars. Would love to see him get some play on stations other than just pop, which would be less expensive. But the frustration for me is to hear some fans, for years, saying Adam's music is lacking something, so tepid or no radio play makes sense. If only he released the right type of song, with the right hook, he would get big radio play like the others, some have said. His song is not radio friendly (whatever that means) is another one. It sounds as if Adam is just putting out s**t music (that would only appeal to his fans) and that is why nothing is good enough to get played. His ballads are never worthy. But most of his other songs are not either. I mean, he has put out so many songs since TOH and none of them were played. Some fans are just happy to hear another song out there. Others, like me, want to see the music heard so that someone other than fans know he has a song out. I know with and indie label, it is going to be even harder now. But we are hearing the exact same excuses, we heard when he was on a major, as to why his music does not get played. It does not fit what is on the radio, even tho the radio plays different types/styles of music all the time. I will support him as always and I'm glad he is happy with the way things are going. But I am not convinced that he can put up enough streaming numbers alone to make a big difference. But he and his team have a release plan so I hope it meets their expectations and keeps Adam pleased with the results. I think saying that a certain song is "not suited to radio" doesn't make sense anymore. The songs played on the radio are all over the place, style-wise, sound-wise, etc. Adam's music certainly fits in as much as just about anything else. He's not a teen idol. He doesn't play " easy listening" elevator music. He has an edge all his own. Radio and media peeps love him as a person. And they even like some of his songs. The radio thing is mystery to me. You don't just go to a radio station and say, "Here's my song. Now play it." Adam has Queen -cred, for sure. His solo music, despite a few strong songs over the years, is a whole different thing. I agree that he and label do have a plan and we'll see some interesting things happen over the next six months. Hope so. If he's happy with how it goes, then it works for me. Lots of singers who do not top the charts have strong, loyal fanbases. They record music and perform it for a life-time. That sounds good to me.

Adam’s lack of anxiety about this new music is likely related to not having to play the radio game anymore. Empire isn’t rca or Warner, radio is not what they do a lot of, especially pop. Clearly there was no US radio intent for New Eyes. They have different rollout and promo plans. Maybe radio for a different song or maybe not.
He is chill, I am chill. It’s all good. He has opportunities and platforms other indie artists don’t.
