I didn't see the drum battle on the setlist ... did they omit that also? I mentioned it as another blessing in my recap (or rather random thoughts) in yesterday's thread. No, there was no drum battle this time around. All the extra fat was trimmed to get as much music into the show as possible. It was glorious! Thanks for your recap and for filling us in on the "big picture stuff", kryptoman68! It seems like it really worked out to omit the selfie stick moment and the drum battle.

FINALLY!!! Been waiting all day for this. Now I can go to sleep. Or maybe after about five more times listening to it. I love it when Adam starts this so delicately. When he floats the G4 for "this thing" and "forever" in the first verse. (For vocal nerds, that note is right at his natural break in registers, making it challenging to sing lightly like that.) It gives a great emotional arc from beginning to end, delicate to powerhouse. Nirvana!

I forgot a technical detail I really enjoyed due to my professional background: During Radio Gaga, the video wall showed Brian and Adam WITHIN the Metropolis' futuristic mega-structures. The effect was very clean (and clever), but I am not sure if anyone noticed. The trains connecting the buildings travel in front of the performers. Basically they rotoscoped the Metropolis footage to create a matte that keeps the buildings and trains, but keys off the background, and superimposed the result over the live feed which was desaturated to black and while to appear as part of the movie. (Say what?) Unfortunately, due to most Glamberts' (otherwise welcome) obsession with filming just Adam in close ups, it was rather hard to find a video that shows the effect (or in fact any of the amazing visuals that were going on throughout the show). Here is one that works: youtu.be/zU4awmN5Kg8?t=50

When someone records the crowd, back to Brian, now to another Queen member, a far away shot, another close up, back to Adam.......Now pulling back to the whole stage...back to Adam...I can't stand it. I admit I'll sometimes stop watching the video and look for another person's video that stays mostly on Adam. If I'm just interested in capturing the audio, it doesn't matter how the video looks.

I've only been at the first N.A. tour and I was just happy with so many screens, they continue to take it up a notch and I love they kept the front screen (where the crown is shown a lot) from the last tour.

Thanks for the techno info kryptoman! The only back screen graphics I had noticed were the crumbling columns during TSMGO and Adam being kinda lost in it all standing at the center bottom. I do admit.....I only tend to look at Adam so mostly lose everything else. Like you said....lots of the videos just don't capture the full staging background. I'm gonna try and pay more attention going forward. There is so much going on with this "rig" it's almost overwhelming at times.
Thanks for posting that video view of the stage. I had missed most all of it focusing on Adam. Taken as a whole "work of art" it's very impressive. All I could think of was....darn it, he's not walking around the thrust this time. But good news is because he's staying mostly center stage either in front of or behind Roger for many songs, I'll be observing more of the background screens than I normally would.

That is correct. But the one you found is not on their channel. This person, took it and posted it on his own channel. héctor Ortigosa Published on Feb 26, 2018 The one I posted is the original from the TALC channel. Hope that makes sense. Love that video. Love it, too! Thank you for posting the original. I just searched by key words and that came up. I was surprised it hadn't been viewed much after remembering how terrific it was. Now I know why and I'll be more diligent when I post a video. Loxie, I was not criticizing you for posting the video. I just have a habit of looking at the channel name of YT videos. I also let TALC know that someone took their video.

Ok. I’m at a loss
bohrmian rap. When Brian rises from the floor. His outfit. What is it symbolizing? I don t know enough about queen repertoire to understand the mask and neon lighting. Like a phantom of the opera?
He had just finished his guitar solo where it looked like he was on top of a fiery asteroid and various planets were descending around him. It was a real surprise to see him like this and through the mist it was a bit hard to see the mask. He wasn't on stage for long in that costume and I just thought he was an alien after all the space visuals!

The show last night was fantastic. It had an overall more rock feeling to it, for me, than the last tour. The revised set list worked really well with a few new things sprinkled in. Adam was in super voice as you've all seen (heard) by now. Mszue and I, and a newby QAL attendee, met with Happy and her daughter for dinner before the show. We ended up walking quite a ways around the arena before we found the sports bar where we had booked, and then had a bunch of stairs to get up. Mszue has some problems with doing a lot of walking and her comments were heard by one, or the, restaurant manager, who was so kind as to pre-scan our tickets and take us into the arena through the back end of the restaurant and up with an elevator. All of which was greatly appreciated by our party. So we didn't even get our purses checked or anything. Merchandise lines were absolutely crazy long, so I ended up getting my shirt after the show, when it was still busy, but at least manageable. Although by that time all the purple shirts were also gone, mugs had sold out earlier, and a few other things might have been sold out. I didn't look at other things closely. If you get a chance to pre-order for pickup at the arena, that would probably be a good idea if you know what you want and know your size. The women's shirt with just the Queen crest definitely fits a lot nicer than the standard t-shirts they sell. We had seats on the floor 4 rows in front of the sound both and with an isle in front of us and to our right side. There's a picture on p. 13 of yesterday's thread that shows Mszue's blond head. We would not pick those seats again. As soon as the show started everyone on the floor, including us, were up and stayed up so we could barely see Adam's top half other than on the big screen, especially Mszue who's height challenged. There was some walking in front of us, but not too bad, but a security guard who came to spell the one who was there in the beginning stood right in front of Mszue, and she basically watched most of the show on the screens, which considering the cost of those tickets (about $225 CAD) is disappointing. So we missed his shenanigans on the piano during KQ and never saw the red shoes with the flame shirt. Still a fabulous show, but now learning some details we missed by seeing some of the videos posted. Next time we'd pick some seats just a few rows up in the stands, or up front of course if we had that option and it was halfway affordable. I did manage a few decent pictures as I have a Canon SX620 camera which has a 25x zoom, but is still a one piece small camera you're allowed to bring in. Anything with an interchangeable lens you're not allowed to take in, at least that's what I've heard and read. I don't have a photobucket type of account, but you can find the pictures here www.facebook.com/ingrid.vermegen?ref=bookmarks Please keep them on the forum as my name is attached to the account. And boy was Adam sparkly! Especially with the last outfit for the encore, he really embodied "the glittery alien from planet fierce". I guess this is my recap! Sorry to hear your view wasn't the best. I had a speaker that kept blocking Adam's face on the big screen on stage left. I can't see your QAL photos -- just photos of your B&B which looks nice!
