Small excerpt:
Queen’s Brian May said,"Like Live Aid in 1985, we believe this concert will be a milestone. It will generate practical solutions to address the world’s glaring anomalies. Global Citizen is an organisation which has already moved mountains. We hope this concert will be the beginning of a new era in which all creatures on Earth will eventually benefit."
Roger Taylor of Queen added, "We are honoured to be a part of this festival and to assist Global Citizen in their amazing quest to help the poorer peoples of our world by attempting to solve some of the most pressing problems of humanity."
Adam Lambert said,“ I’m so excited to be a part of this year’s Global Citizen Festival working towards one goal. Although there is still work to be done, I am blown away by this organization’s progress to end extreme poverty and can’t wait to celebrate how far we’ve come. ”

Enter to ‘win’ tickets....presumably something different from buying them. So can people outside the US buy them?

Tickets are free but cannot be sold on a secondary market for any reason. We know people at all of the big reselling sites, and they’ve agreed to take down any of these tickets. On our side, we’ll cancel any advertised tickets, so if you buy them, you won’t be able to get into the show. We’ve set out the rules in the Terms & Conditions and will remove people who break the rules from all draws. Can I transfer my tickets to someone else? Yes! Once you receive the ticket link, you can easily assign them to another name via Ticketmaster. Here’s how to transfer tickets: Log into your Ticketmaster account, and go into ‘My Tickets’ Find your pair of Global Citizen Festival tickets, and use the ‘Ticket Transfer’ option to transfer tickets to your friend or family member’s name. Please note this will only be available after Sept. 20. What happens if I win more than one pair of tickets? Congratulations! Thank you for being a great Global Citizen. If you win a second time, this has no effect on your first pair of tickets. Feel free to transfer (information here) the other pair to a friend, family member, neighbor, or colleague. I only need one of my tickets. Can I give the other one to another Global Citizen? Yes! If you need help finding a friend for the day of the show, check out our Global Citizen Facebook group here. Both of my tickets have my name on them. Is that OK? Yes, your guest will still be able to get into the festival if your name is on their ticket. Do I need to show a matching ID at the gate? No, you don’t need a matching ID at the gate. Do I need to print my tickets? Yes, you must print your tickets ahead of time before you arrive at the park. If you do not have a paper ticket, you will not be allowed in. Due to NYC Parks regulations, we cannot accept tickets presented on your mobile device. We have plenty of recycling stations throughout the park for you to recycle your paper tickets, once you’ve entered! How do I buy VIP tickets? Global VIP tickets are available through our ticketing partner Ticketmaster. Go here for more info.
