Puzzled. How did wloud2oldmusic get the idea that Queen's "resurgence" was due in LARGE part to the success of the movie and in SMALL part to Adam? Where has this person been for the past eight years? LOL At least she enjoyed the show a lot and praised Adam quite a bit. Funny how people's perceptions get formed. I realize that the movie DID bring lots of attention to QAL from those who were not following them at all. That is a great thing! But those big arenas have been filled with QAL fans world-wide for quite a while now, way before the movie. Old topic, I now, but it just bugged me. I'm not opposed to correcting these people when I see the articles and have many times. This could be an editor who got to it. All it needs is a two letter word "no" as in "in no small part" and it would be perfect. From reading the rest of it they certainly think Adam is great.

Adam Lambert I just want to say that since we lost Prince I have listened to nothing but my Prince music. No radio stations, videos on here unless it was Prince. One night as i was scrolling through i found this video and thought now who is this trying to sing Cher? I watched it and it wasn't long before i had tears streaming down my face and i was crying like a baby. From that moment on i started watching you and listening to your music as well. You have a beautiful voice and your very easy on the eyes. Now I only listen to Prince and you. Thank you for doing Chers song, you made it so beautiful and so heart touching. I have gotten your albums and I will continue to support you. Thank you for shining a bright light into this broken heart. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜

I think the statement in the review is correct as written. It says: "Yes, Charlotte, NC was able to bid farewell to this legend of a band who has seen a massive resurgence thanks in large part to the movie ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and in small part due to the current singer Adam Lambert." Note that he was talking specifically about the concert being in Charlotte and not about the rest of the U.S.A. I do not think that Charlotte would have gotten a concert night on this tour if the popularity of the movie had not shown that a Queen concert would be popular in Charlotte. Same for the 2 Flordia and New Orleans concerts. As someone else mentioned, the 1st QAL tour in 2014 completely ignored the South East U.S.A. And Nashville was the only concert stop in the South East U.S.A. in 2017. Also, except in NY and LA, the 1st two QAL tours did not sell out anywhere near as fast as this latest tour did. There were still tickets available a couple of weeks before the concerts in the earlier tours. And the earlier tours were about 90-95% sold, which is basically considered sold out. But every single venue was not sold out. Some venues were only 84% sold according to the Box Office scores. This tour, every single venue was sold out many months before the concert! I think they could have done twice as many cities and sold every one of them out. And this very much increased level of interest is very likely due to the popularity of the movie. And the Spotify charts showed a huge resurgence in popularity of Queen music after the movie. The Spotify charts did not show this level of resurgence in Queen popularity after the 1st two QAL tours in the U.S. So yes, I would say that even overall the movie had a bigger effect in the resurgence of Queen popularity than Adam touring with the band since 2012 had. ETA - However, I do not think Queen would be touring at all, even with the success of the movie, if they had not already found Adam and were not already touring with him. So in that way, the touring is in very large part due to Adam. But the very large increase in the tour popularity between the 2017 tour and the 2019 tour is in very large part due to a huge increase in the popularity of Queen due to the the success of the movie.

Absolutely agree, but wanted to add some more numbers to your data: The approximate number of tickets sold for the 2014 tour in the US and Canada was about 280,000. The same number for 2017 North American tour was around 300,000. There were some repeat viewers going to multiple shows, but we can assume that about half a million unique people saw those concerts. The estimated number of tickets sold domestically for the movie Bohemian Rhapsody is 23,974,900 according to Box Office Mojo. Again there were a lot of repeated viewings, but even then the number of people who saw the movie was in the millions. Then the success of the movie led to Queen opening the Oscars and to "The Show Must Go On" documentary. The viewership of the Oscars was 29.6 million. The viewership of TSMGO docu was 5.61 million. (we can add some of those to the "thanks to Adam Lambert" column if we want).

However, Adam is a major reason too why the tours are selling. They were selling very well before the movie. But the movie did increase their popularity and caused the venues to sell much faster. Tho without Adam, (take him out and see what happens if they dare) I doubt even the movie would have caused those venues to sell so fast and so full. So I think both Adam and the movie are responsible for the success of this tour.
