Re. The Adam and Javi ‘dancing’ film....
Adam is used to always being potentially ‘on display’ when in public places. He never/rarely gets caught doing something he wouldn’t want people to see.
He would probably even have expected that cute moment of togetherness, dancing publicly, to be captured and that’s ok.
BUT I feel that where it becomes something intrusive is when the film is ‘doctored’ and Adam, who has some control over what is filmed, suddenly has no control over what is presented.
I.e. in this case where it is put on a loop and what might have been a fleeting, barely noticeable few seconds becomes as many detailed minutes as you want and changes the whole nature and perception of what went on.
Edit...thought I’d better add that I think it’s cute, Adam probably couldn’t care less, he can speak for himself etc etc.
Just talking about the principle involved.

I wanted to reply to the posts from yesterday's thread about the Adam speech because I was thinking a lot about it in the context of this particuar tour.
Like all of you, it rankles me especially when it feeds into obnoxious reviews like the "freddie missing" one but I realized during the shows that more than the other tours, the Queen fans were out in huge numbers - old and new. I was consistently surrounded by Queen fans in all but one show. Most of them never saw Adam or even knew about his music.
I was interested in Didilynn (regarding her brother) and Q3's comments from friends to whom they gave tickets. I had the same experience after the show chatting with the Queen fans.
So for this particular tour especially, reaching out to the huge numbers of QAL newbies was a very good move. Connecting to these fans in this way (reviewers be damned), made them relax and embrace him and the collaboration much more readily.

Have to say here, I was in an Opera box in Tampa and I was surrounded by Adam fans! Out of 10 people, 8 were women and they were Adam fans. Also, I was down front in 2014 in Houston and again surrounded by very avid Adam fans. One had an Adam tattoo and another cried the hard cry. In Minnesota in 2017 near the thrust it was Queen fans. And yes they enthusiastically accepted Adam by the 3rd song! My take, Adam fans want to be as close to him as they can afford to be.

Posted on the previous thread, but again here briefly. The Freddie speech seems to be valuable to first-timer concert-goers who haven't heard it multiple times as we have. They like the homage to Freddie, the recognition of his icon status. It may be overkill to many of us by now, but I think it leaves a good impression of Adam to those who are just discovering him. I'll bet Adam and Brian and Roger have discussed this and decided to leave it in. Just my guess.
As for the Adam/Javi hump-dance, I think it was harmless. They were out in large group of people in a party atmosphere. And yes, the little vid may be have fixed to repeat the little moves beyond what they really were.
To me, that little sexy movement was far milder than I've seen on Dancing With The Stars. LOL

I have to agree with those who think the Freddie speech is valuable. Yes, those of us who have seen QAL many times tire of it, but as others have said, it seems to really put Queen fans' attitudes toward Adam at ease regarding his role with the band. At my two concerts this time around, I had mostly Queen fans around me, and they talked of Adam's humility (as well as mentioning his incredible persona and voice), and cheered loudly after his speech. Fortunately, I heard the "carry the torch" version, which I think is the best one I have heard. And, as was mentioned, this tour really brought out the Queen fans - both old and new. The movie really was eye-opening to many who were not that familiar with Queen, and it was so gratifying to see all ages at these concerts, and many more families than I remember seeing in the past.
At my Kansas City concert two years ago, I had an on-stage seat. Of the ten of us, 8 were Queen fans, and one of these avid Queen fans thought that Adam had a better voice than Freddie - that comment blew me away! Of course, to me, it's difficult to compare the two, because their voices are so different. (But many thanks to Cassie for educating us about voice mechanics, and explaining why Adam's voice is so incredible!).
Thanks, Bama for your wonderful recap! Usually I'm doing road trips to concerts, because due to health reasons, flying is very difficult for me. Clocking 900 miles is a lot, I know. I've driven by myself to Vegas and back (about 500 miles each way), to Phoenix (also about 400-500 miles each way), to Denver (about 350-400 miles each way), and to Oklahoma (about 600 miles each way). A lot of driving, but so worth it to see Adam or QAL!!! This summer I had to fly to the East Coast from New Mexico, as my niece's wedding prevented me from attending concerts in Phoenix, Dallas or on the West Coast. I am in post-tour withdrawal for sure, but so thankful that I was able to see two concerts. Thanks again to all who have made this tour so memorable through all your posts, recaps, pics, videos, etc.
SO looking forward to the Velvet era!!!
