"Sam Smith showing that sexuality is no longer the barrier to success it used to be." Sam enjoys a lot of mainstream success because they have never made it all about his sexuality. His talent was allowed to take center stage and shine. Even lately when he tries to get more attention for his sexuality, hardly anyone seems to care of dwell on it. Adam can give long and great interviews, but once his sexuality is mentioned that will grab the headlines and will be almost the only interesting thing they seem to want anyone to take from it. He is a great and needed role model but he is also a fantastic artist. I really hope radio will give him some of the attention he deserves for his talent. Velvet is wonderful and hopefully it will get a chance to be heard by many. I don’t agree with that statement about Sam in that article. Sam didn’t come out until after the success of his first album. When the public recognized, that he was gay, he was already an established artist. And still one, who wasn’t displaying his queerness. So many casual listeners still didn’t know he was gay. Sam has become much more open and outspoken by now, but it’s by far not the same as Adam, who has been open and visibly queer from the start. Had Sam been like that, his career would have looked different today, IMO. I agree with this.... Sam came creeping out of the closet...Adam threw the doors wide open, came out screaming. Sam is just now making more noise. And Sam, even wearing high heels, is just not really interesting enough to garner that much attention. Adam has always commanded attention.

Yep, that was frustrating...okay, I am getting my blood pressure back down by streaming Closer To You (vocals & melody on the line "Oh tell me why our stars just don’t align?" are just gorgeous).

OK so that SUCKED!!! but hey Adam got to proof that he's a pro through and through! What do they even to Soundchecks for?! Loved seeing Alison, she did Backup for Kelly. Btw. Who was that guy on the guitar in the back? The "other Adam"?
Oh and yes Adam looked A-mazing!!! Had to laugh because just on monday i saw my vocal Coaches boots which had buckels and were quite like Adams, probably not as pricey though lol
Oh, not important but a little slighty Off topic fyi. Shosh can be seen in Camila cabellos ig story she's assisting her promotion.

That's Adam Ross. He's a really good guitar player which you need for this music. Adam used him back during TOH tour I think.
Was that the same "gum chewing" drummer? I see they changed out the bass player and added Cam Gray on keys. Wonder if the band will evolve.....or if he'll have the same ones on James Corden, etc. .....and then for his one offs in Nov/Dec.

It's live TV. Sh!t happens. I don't think it hurt Adam at all. In fact, it proved that Adam was singing live, not lip syncing. And since he could not be heard at first, the viewing audience was forced to focus on his very sexy moves. Very hot performance!
It sounded to me like Adam was not over whatever illness struck him yesterday. He pushed thru, but the highest notes sounded pushed and slightly flat to me. Don't think anyone but a super fan would probably notice it. I think it was a smash success.

He never mentions Adam's name, really pisses me off. Although his introduction at the GC event he did say something about the fantastic or beautiful voice of Adam Lambert. That was the introduction worthy of of Adam.

I think it was a smash success. The high parts when he sang "Superpower.." in falsetto sounded off to me too, if that's what you're talking about.. I wasn't going to watch the live show which starts for me in a few minutes because I watched the videos and the mic issue I was so disappointed for Adam, but if you, cassie, say it was a smash success, it warrants watching it on my TV. At what part of the show does Adam come on? I wonder why they didn't let him start over since it was a mic issue..? I've also been puzzled why Rami never mentions Adam by name.. It reminds me what happened with Avicii and lack of acknowledgement for Lay Me Down.
