I literally shed tears last night as I watched the rioting and destruction take place in downtown Chicago, a beautiful, vibrant, strong, proud city. These vicious acts a terrorism, plain and simple. The evil organizations that do the damage have many names but they all have the same evil agenda. They must be stopped. And they must not be equated with the true peaceful protesters. And there were plenty of those, too, doing their best to draw attention to systemic racism. My heart goes out to everyone in law enforcement who are risking there lives to maintain the peace amid all the insanity.

Glad to see Adam speaking out loudly about everything going on right now. He’s not wrong. I’m also happy he’s not scared to call out HeWhoCannot amed for being the little man that he is.
On another note, excited about the Grammy Museum concert. Funny thing, I visited the museum during my last work stint in LA before Covid hit. Really enjoyed it but one flood was closed for renovations. Looking forward to returning when it’s possible.

It's Monday, so I thought I'd throw a little music this way, for those who just feel that all things have been said, for now. Or that things are just too sad for words: www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJPN4_l3UCE

For what it's worth, the refund on the AL Vegas tickets I returned showed up on my credit card statement today.

Perusing the news this morning, I see that many white people have found a comforting narrative to fall back on that not only doesn't address the basic injustice being actively protested which is that black people are disproportionately subject to police violence and systemic racism, but actually perpetuates the overlordness. "Poor black people, I know you are downtrodden, but we have found the white people responsible, they are called antifa and they are breaking windows, but we will send police in military-style tactical gear to protect you and if we accidentally arrest, taze, or discriminate against you in the process ... well, you were just in the way when we were trying to get to the leftist." We can't keep turning away from the bad actors in positions of dominance and power. www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/jun/01/george-floyd-riots-violence-damage-property-police-brutalityI am glad Adam retweeted this. It is one of the most compelling statements that I saw yesterday. twitter.com/benbarnes/status/1267280096655630336

For the first time in my entire 60 years, I feel so sad and so stressed about the state of our country, I haven't even been able to listen to music. And music has always been my solace, my go-to when things are wrong. I'm not a person that cries easily, so music has always been a way for me to express my emotions.
But not right now.
And that makes me even sadder.

Whether it be the violent/radical left, or the violent/radical right or those coming into loot and carrying out arms full of clothes, shoes, electronics, etc./thieves.....they need to somehow be weeded out and dealt with. Like you said, the basic injustices aren't being addressed with all the focus and coverage being on the violence and destruction.
I was surprised to read in my local newspaper that Cullman, my smallish city, had a peaceful protest yesterday afternoon in a small park in town. About 25 - 30 protesters and the City Police chief was there and because of the small size of the group, he was able to talk with them all in a friendly positive way and the protesters did their thing with their signs and all was well.
