I was expecting the venue to cancel but tho understandable it still hurts. I appreciate the virtual stuff but yeah not the same. I was really looking forward to Adam and his band and backup singers putting on a sexy and edgy show and moving the needle forward. No more chasing the pop divas and all their props. GMA and the Dec. shows were just wonderful and a taste of things to come. And of course everything Queen. Almost unbelievable that his album release, and all his planned performances, fell right in the middle of this nightmare. Fingers crossed that good things are waiting for next year and this virus is soon under control. So true. The album was so many years in the making and when it was finally released the world decided to go up in flames. I feel for Adam and his team. And for us. Let's also keep in mind that a good portion of the songs, as in SideA, were "released" earlier, but ironically that didn't go smoothly either due to Adam missing a good number of the promo appearances then. Sadly, a stellar album not meant to be properly released.

Good lord, he's everywhere !!! Just saw down below the tweet about a roundtable, which includes Adam, LP and Conchita. Wow, that sounds super interesting. I can't wait to listen to it. Yes, that definitely does sound interesting. Quite an impressive roster of artists participating! I assume it was organized by the FSF/Adam? I couldn't tell for sure if it is a FSF-sponsored event, or if FSF was publicizing it because of Adam's involvement, but since it's going to be broadcast on Adam's YouTube channel I'm guessing it's the former rather than the latter. I'm going to be honest - I was afraid the FSF would be like the first iteration of the fan club. You know, started with high hopes and an apparent commitment, only to fizzle out in relatively short order due to neglect. I didn't think it boded well when the official announcement was made before the site was even set up to accept donations. But while it's still early days, it looks like Adam is serious about using the foundation to make a difference, and will keep putting the effort in to make it viable and effective. I'm very happy about that. Not so happy about the Vegas cancellation, although I didn't like the idea of either Adam or the audience taking such a chance - and I didn't like the idea of sparsely attended performances, either. I will never get over how badly affected this whole era has been by the pandemic - the timing truly couldn't have been worse. I'm sure Adam was thrilled about both the Vegas residency and the co-tour with Xtina, just to name a couple of high profile endeavors he lost that probably will not come around again for the Velvet era. Nothing to be done about it, but I'm still so sad for him.I think we can rationalize as much as we want, but it truly is sad to not be able to properly celebrate and enjoy the "Velvet" chapter. I can only imagine how excited Adam must have been about bringing HIS music to the concert stage, only to have to let it all go. It deserved so much better. But we'll get through this and hopefully we'll "party" even bigger when the time is right.

True, top tier artists do not need to charge for online concerts. But, that is rare. A vast majority of musicians live gig to gig. Even if they are part of an established group or orchestra, if they don't perform, they don't get paid. As freelancers, they also don't get health insurance. After several months of cancelled performances, any savings they may have had (and many don't earn enough to have a savings plan at all), is gone. It is difficult for artists to earn a living in good economic times without viruses. Adam worked the cosmetic counter at a mall and sold jeans to pay the rent. It is a dire situation. Yes it is really scary for artists working gig to gig and supporting players. Now it is looking like another 6 mos. of the year with everything probably cancelled. I really don't know how they will survive. Many won't I suspect. It is absolutely horrible. And to think if everyone and every state had been on the same page, we may have been working our way out of this like they are doing in Europe and Asia.

Stupidest thing ever to make this pandemic political. The virus doesn't care which side you're on; it'll kill you regardless.

In Germany the Virus is pretty well contained. The only big outbreak of 1.500 people is a a slaughterhouse. This incidense has shed a big light in the poor working conditions in these meat-factories. It's not that this issue hasnt been know before, but it's exposed by Corona. In the German media they are saying that early next year is a leginimate date we can expect a vaccine. Of course there is still uncertainty obviously, but it seems to be somewhat serious proposal, because experts have been saying it. Of course with the needed caution, but for them to even make a prediction means they're quite certain and have good reason for hope. Personally I think it's rational to a certain degree to mourn the cancellation of the concerts. As I said before: my biggest hope is that all this caos, fear and pain wasn't for nothing and that some true positive change comes. nightowl which german artist did that?

In one of these interviews lately with Roger he was asked if QAL would consider a drive in concert. He said no plain and simple. Doesn't seem like Adam's style either. I loved the 4 song set he did for the Grammy museum.
Maybe he'll do some more TV gigs. And maybe some shows will start filming with small audiences in the fall. I see they announced they will allow fans at the Kentucky Derby. Will be interesting see how that goes.

Trying to be relatively optimistic here, but I'm wondering if Adam is looking at the rest of this year as an opportunity to record another album, and part of next year is blocked off to promote it - with a possible tour for both Era 5 and "Velvet" in 2022 with the hope that the world will have returned to something resembling normal by then. I think it's safe to say we can kiss any television promo he lost with "Velvet" goodbye forever, because that project is now old news in entertainment world terms and what promo opportunities there are will go to artists with more recent releases. I'm guessing Adam will want to get new music out sooner rather than later, and while he's been super busy during Pride month, that will undoubtedly slow down once June is over. He's said he's working on new music. Who knows, it just might happen!

That boggles the mind, quite frankly. Also, haven't most of the drive-ins disappeared in the US?
