I am not banning posts about the upcoming election or even HeWhoCannot amed. Adam is actively engaged in this election and it is OK to discuss anything Adam is actively engaged in. But, I have a couple requests:
1. Please do not characterized any large group of other people, including HeWhoCannot amed supporters or Biden supporters, as all the same.
2. Do not question the wisdom or intelligence of anyone else's political decisions.
You may post a statement of why you believe what you do. You can even disagree with Adam's opinion of the President and his Administration. But please respect voters, even those you disagree with vehemently.
***
This coming election is going to continue to get uglier in a way that we have not seen in our lifetimes -- even in the Nixon era.
It may be uncivil out there but lets try to stay civil here.
Thanks!

I finally asked my sis who is a big HeWhoCannot amed believer why she puts up with him. She said her family does not care about his personal traits. He allows the stock market to make them money and the Senate is picking conservative judges for lifetime jobs. Supreme Court judges too. I suspected as much. Many - actually most - of the wealthy people I was meeting when lecturing on very high end cruise ships (like Regent and Seabourn) were HeWhoCannot amed supporters - and these were not stupid people. They love the tax cuts, I guess, and not having to follow any environmental restrictions with their factories. They didn't want their money going to "poor people" or "socialist programs". I also got the feeling that a lot of them loved the very restrictive immigration polices of Steven Miller. His goal since he's been a teenager is to keep America white and keep brown people & Muslims out.

For fans who think Adam should be more tolerant of their beliefs re DT, would they really want him to have no respect for himself like a Grenell? Why would Adam respect a president who thinks this sh** is funny? How could they not understand how he feels with these people in charge. Would they feel safe? A lot of people in this country don't feel safe right now even if we are not a minority or LGBT. If one only cares about money and taxes that is fine. But don't expect others to overlook discrimination, bigotry and voter suppression so you can have a few more dollars. There are many people who are not struggling financially but also care about equal rights and civil rights of others. People had jobs before T and they will have jobs when he is voted out of office. Dude is nuts so there is not enough selfishness in the world for me not to want him out of office. DT Reportedly Jokes About Mike P*&@^# Wanting to 'Hang' GaysPresident Donald once joked in private that Mike P *&@^# "wants to hang" gay people, according to a profile of the vice president in The New Yorker on Monday. www.nbcnews.com/feature/nbc-out/-reportedly-jokes-about-mike-*&@^#-wanting-hang-gays-n811086

You do know all supporters aren't wealthy, don't you? I am a college educated self employed business owner, and I don't own a factory. I appreciate what President has done for small business by removing burdensome regulations that make it difficult for the average person to even start a small business. Small businesses are the backbone of our County and by making it easier to create small businesses it created thousands of jobs for people and took a lot of people off of unemployment and other government programs. Of course, this was before COVID but I happen to believe we can do it again with . Biden has never created a job in his life and doubt he will start after 40+ years in politics. Do I want the money I earn to go to poor people, no, I would like for there to be enough jobs so that people who are poor now can become part of the workforce and contributing members of society. Of course there will always those who can't work and take care of themselves and I believe government programs should assist them with whatever they need. Don't even get me started on socialism it has been tried many times throughout history and has never been successful or sustainable you just can't live on other people's money forever, at some point the money runs out and please don't say it works in Sweden. Personal taxes including income tax in Sweden are close to 70% of your income and in addition to that they have a 25% consumption tax. They are a pro capitalist and pro free market Country, pro school choice. It boils down to whether you want to be responsible for managing your own life or give up your freedoms and have the government manage all things financial.
Every place I typed the President's name it was automatically removed when post went public....however, as you can see Biden's name remains in the post.

I just can't see a lot of "freedom" in losing health insurance when the job goes. Home eviction comes next. Those living paycheck to paycheck fall through the cracks way too easily, and homeless and hopeless people on the streets do taint my own personal freedom quite a bit. A rich country can do better than that. Civilization requires taxes and it doesn't mean that government manages all things financial, but government can provide a sense of security. Nothing wrong with that. I grew up in Germany and social democracy works really well there. I never felt restricted, just a little less anxious for the common good. I see it as a moral obligation to strive for a fair distribution of wealth and to lift up those who are less lucky - the top 1% should not get away with being ignorant and selfish.

The fact is that every European Country, as well as Canada, Australia, New Zealand and yes, even the USA have programs that are "socialist" and it's unfortunate that many Americans have somehow come to see this as a dirty word or a dangerous concept. When your farmers got bail-outs of billions of dollars thanks to the trade war with China - that is socialism. When businesses were recently given non-repayable loans - millions of which went to businesses owned by T -rump supporters or his appointees - that is socialism. When banks got bailed out, when car factories got bailed out, when a non-profit organization like the military, Post Office, public schools gets money it's ALL socialism. In the USA, a lot of tax dollars go to the haves, but wherever the money goes, it's socialism. The question then becomes, WHERE do you want tax dollars to go? In Canada we want them to go to universal health care, to education, to the arts, and so on - while in the USA you have other priorities. But this narrative that the GOP doesn't have socialism while the Dems do, is really false. Yes, I do know that many poor people also support the GOP because they've also been told repeatedly that voting for anyone else will result in "socialism" AND they are often one issue voters - against a woman's right to choose.

As far as I see it, here in the US we have "socialism" for the rich, yet they sell "socialism" to the ordinary folks as lack of freedom and government control.
