Cynthia (as well as Jhud) playing Aretha is a perfect example of an artist not needing to look just like or sound the same as an artist they portray in a movie. Not sure if Adam will ever get the opportunity to play another artist but he can't be ruled out by his fans because he does not look or sound exactly like someone else. When they cast the parts, I think it is more of if an artist can pull off the portrayal in a believable way and not because they are a carbon copy of the subject. There is no one that I want him to play in particular but would not rule him out because of looks or sound, if the opportunity presented itself.
Cynthia and Adam were wonderful in the duet.

Have a very Happy Birthday, Q3!!! You deserve so much praise for keeping Adamtopia such an extraordinary place for us. Thank you for all you do!! It truly is my lifeline. Without Adam and Adamtopia, I don't know how I would be able to cope with life during these dark times.
Very late to the party, but congrats to QAL for their Number One in the UK and Australia!! So exciting!! Still waiting for my DVD, Blu-Ray and CDs from the Queen store. Listening to the audio from iTunes - extraordinary, and can't wait for the visuals to go along with the sound.
Such a lovely duet!

I wish Carousel would put this duet out for sale. Many would buy it.

I agree with everything you said regarding an actor not needing to look like the real life person they are playing. Cynthia Erivo is a great singer and actress, she’s won a Tony, an Emmy and a Grammy plus she’s been nominated for 2 Academy Awards. She is a very well trained artist. I think that giving Adam and her the duet to open the show shows how highly Adam and his incredible voice is viewed in the industry. As far as acting, he is wise, inmo to start with smaller acting roles to build to larger ones. Once he achieves some roles and gains confidence in what he can do as an actor, along with a good director, I think he’ll surprise everyone.
