This was of course one of the more interesting tracks for me. I do wonder (I believe it is) if this is the arrangement to be on the upcoming Queen album. It wouldn't make sense to not be...for Queen to arrange it one way to record and then go back and rearrange it for Adam to do.
Adam's version may be the definitive version though OF THIS arrangement depending on a few factors. I know Love Kills started as a Queen song before it ended up being a Freddie solo track. I wonder if this was the original attempt at it and if a version of this exists from then. I'm hoping that's the case. Because otherwise that means that Queen arranged it and they are now using computers to try to punch in Freddie's vocal which is quite definitively NOT singing it in ballad fashion. That could have a less than desired effect.
BUT anyways back to QAL. This actually took me a few listens to get. When I heard it at the iheart pre-tour gig, I was excited to hear it but didn't quite get it. I was probably in tune with the original version. I think the arrangement began to work a few performances later and now it stands as a great performance.
I love Adam's voice here. It's more subtle than usual and that works for him.

Slower and slinkier than the original - I could believe this was intentional and not due to Brian and Roger's advancing age. This is another song that Adam owned quite well.

I don't have a favorite I don't think. Again much like TSMGO, he had more Glory notes in 2012 and I understand why he doesn't this time around...but this has always been his best Queen song. He has put his own stamp on it more than any other.
Never fails to bring the house down. I wish though they would go back to the arrangement they did with Seal at the FMTC with a bigger ending...but that's nitpicky. I would like to hear Adam try this ending though:
NOT a big fan of Seal's performance...just the ending arrangement.

Not a song I'd say was in Adam's wheelhouse but it has improved as the tour went along. It was interesting to finally hear him sing it after Brian had tackled it during the last mini-tour.
I thought he did this quite well in Merriweather.

Another track I've always liked live a lot more. Adam has always handled this one well and I do love the doowop ending. Roger did something *like* the doo wop ending when he sang the track..more of a single high wooo-ooooooo.
As for Adam I did highly enjoy his performance at the Forum:

This as always is pure fun. The live versions have ALWAYS walked all over the studio version. It's just a ton more fun and boogieing at the end. Adam is very confident in this and this one is right in his wheelhouse. It's a faux-Elvis, kind of tribute where you have to sing in character and Adam is very good at that. Loose and swingy, it's a perfect kind of song for Adam...

Adam handles this one brilliantly. I miss the glory notes of 2012 and am not sure how I feel about the very recent way he started ending the last big moment with the low start and then rising intonation of shoowooowooowooowooo to a higher note. The first time he tried it he went for a semi-glory note which i liked...now though he's ending it a bit short and I'm not quite a fan.
Of course I understand the concept of saving his voice for a gruelling tour....but Day 2 of Hammersmith in 2012 remains my fav version of the song...
BUT glory notes aside, this song has never had a complaint from me. Beautifully handled.

I always enjoyed this in performance. I preferred (as cheesy as it was) the 2012 version when Adam introduced Freddie for the second verse...BUT I love the trading of vocals at the end. It was a bit of a powerful moment for me....Loved Bri in his gold cape. This is one of Adam's better vocals. Just very comfortable sounding.

One of the banes of my existence here I love the Rog tease that he did at the beginning of WWRY. WWRY was very well done by everyone. WATC had a few too many Christina Aguillera type runs though for me. A common Queen fan complaint that I know doesn't really make sense to many here.

I actually wasn't a fan of the official vid. The bass mix is WAAAAAAYYY to heavy...AND it was very early in the tour where the pacing was honestly glacial. It was SO slow. Play the Queen one from above and then move to the QAL official vid to see what I mean.
I was very glad to see as the tour went on that the band warmed up and this got more where it was supposed to be....so my favorites of QAL were definitely later on in the tour. MSG was very nice I thought.
