My goodness so young to die, rest in peace George Michael, God bless your soul! So very sorry to hear about the passing of George Michael. Even though I consider Adam's voice superior, I still consider George Michael an important influence to our generation, and I will miss his angelic voice. On another note, we were asked yesterday to talk about our important Christmas/Hanukkah traditions. My family is scattered all over the US, and we are not able to be together at Christmas time. We have a Jewish influence in our family, as well as a Catholic background. For the past 11 years our family has a tradition of donating to a charity as a group instead of exchanging gifts. We each nominate a charity and write a short proposal about the charity and why it is important to us as individuals. We then vote on these proposals, and the winning charity receives a donation of about $1,500. This donation is made in the memory of my parents, who are were an example of wonderful generosity to so many worthy causes. This definitely unites our family at this most important time of the year. Merry Christmas/Happy Hanukkah to those that celebrate, and so many thanks to Q3 for providing this wonderful Adam forum where we can share our love of this incredible man!!!

OT But just needed to let everyone know that my roommate lost her battle this morning. At least her suffering is over. :( Rihannsu, my deepest sympathies to you for the loss of your dear friend and roommate. Thinking of you at this most difficult time. Also hoping that you are safe as Hurricane Matthew hits Florida. I have a sister and brother-in-law who live on Kiawah Island, SC near Charleston, and they have safely evacuated to Atlanta. Hoping that all Atoppers who are threatened by this monster storm remain safe!

ljsmack, I just posted a reply concerning your vertigo, but it posted at the end of yesterday's thread. I'm still laughing about girldrummer's comment that Adam is part of our DNA now, and your son's comment that there's nothing in your brain except a huge picture of Adam!

Whew! Glad it wasn't just me who had suspicions. We all know what Adam sounds like and how he moves. He's part of our DNA by now. This made me laugh. I had to have an MRI of my brain this week to rule out tumors and mini-stroke.(and it was fine). Talking to my son about it, and he said wryly, "of course they couldn't find anything in your brain except a huge picture of Adam!" For any who care, I'm suffering from a severe bout of vertigo, better than the alternatives! If any of you have to cope with this, will you PM me please? I've already fallen and gave myself a concussion. Love to hear coping strategies.Girldrummer's "He's part of our DNA by now" and ljsmack, your son's comment about nothing in your brain except a huge picture of Adam made me laugh!! During the past year, one of my sister-in-laws was suffering from vertigo, and also had significant shortness of breath. After a complete workup, including ruling out heart disease, she was diagnosed with vestibular neuritis (inflammation of the vestibular nerve in the ear), which I understand can sometimes be caused by a viral infection. She has been on a regimen of exercises to improve vestibular function, and these have really helped her vertigo. Another friend's husband was suffering from vertigo, and his was caused by the crystals in the ear canal which someone here mentioned. He was put in a machine which spun him around (he said that was miserable!), but it repositioned the crystals and his vertigo went away. Hope you find an answer and relief soon! I'm sure my brain is also occupied by a huge picture of Adam!

I have read comments questioning/criticizing people for always comparing other singers to Adam. "Why can't you just appreciate them all? You are obsessed with Adam." How can I explain? I don't INTEND to compare all singers to Adam. I am not invested in ranking Adam among singers. It's as if my brain, upon hearing a male singer, defaults to its "Adam" setting. Perceiving it is not Adam's voice, the brain says, "What is that?! There something wrong here. I'm not feeling this voice like I should." It's like opening up a bottle of your favorite soda on a hot summer day, only to find that it is lukewarm. And flat. Or turning on my high end stereo equipment, only to find out that the subwoofer is blown. Or sitting down on what looks to be a cushy comfortable chair, only if feel lumps and springs. Adam's voice just moves me from the top of my head to the tips of my toes. I have learned to accept that there are some whose ears cannot discern and appreciate the exquisite beauty of Adam's voice. How sad! How lucky are those of us who could hear that angelic sound Cassie, you expressed my same feelings so very well! I too don't intend to compare all singers to Adam, but it just happens automatically. Like Brian on AGT - yes he is obviously talented, but I didn't "feel" the song. I just kept thinking - "Adam sings this so much better!". Adam's voice takes me to another plane entirely. My DH is tolerant of my obsession with Adam and his angelic voice (GFG, you know), but I feel so sorry for him that, as you put it "there are some whose ears cannot discern and appreciate the exquisite beauty of Adam's voice". And exquisite is the perfect word! Thank goodness Brian's and Roger's ears can appreciate that beauty and are sharing the unique talent of our Adam with Queen and so many in the world. We are so lucky indeed!!

My thought is there are many different kinds of happy and no reason you can't have more than one kind. The beauty of this situation for Adam is exactly that he doesn't have to choose, he gets to have them both which makes them both even better. Yesss! This is exactly right. Isn't it a great day when the topic of conversation is how happy Adam is? With the conclusion that on stage he is indeed very happy!? Now I might have to think about how to put in words why he makes me happy. Anybody want to inspire me with their own story?? Why does Adam make me happy? So hard to understand and explain, even to myself. My DH is very supportive of my addiction, but is only a casual fan. When his friends ask him why I love Adam and will travel (often by myself) a significant distance to attend his concerts he will tell them "because he makes her happy". Certainly, Adam is gorgeous, sexy, smart and ever so endearing and entertaining, but as Cassie would say, it is "THE VOICE" that pierces my heart and touches my soul so deeply. Adam's voice had me at "Mama", and I can't explain well how his voice takes me to a different plane - one of true happiness. As rihannsu wisely said, there are many different kinds of happiness. I split my time between New Mexico in the winter and southwestern Colorado during the warmer months. I am most "happy" when I'm in the Colorado Rockies. The mountains give me a sense of peace, joy and contentment, and sing to my soul. Adam and his voice give me a somewhat different kind of happiness - one of awe, excitement and rejuvenation. Adam energizes me and makes me feel young again (I'm in the latter part of my 60's). Seeing him live brings me an incredible "high" - he is my drug! As far as where Adam is "happier" on stage, it is obvious that he is joyous both with Queen and at his own concerts. Being on stage is his "high", and as some have said, it is great that he doesn't have to choose. My life has changed so much and I'm a happier person because of Adam. And thanks to all the wonderful people here on Adamtopia who share my love for Adam!

I adore this interview so much!!! Brian and Roger are SO generous and open with their praise for Adam. They know how lucky they are to have him. They truly believe that if they didn't have Adam, they would not have revitalized and toured the world in front of massive audiences. They know it. It's a fact. And it's due to Adam, the whole Queen package, the Gift From God. IDK.. they probably still could do it without Adam, HOWEVER, it would not be the same. Adam has so many similar talent as Freddie, showmanship, stage presence, theatricality, range, etc. All those things what make QAL so amazing and revitalized both Roger and Brian. They finally find someone, that in so many ways, like Freddie but not imitating him. I remembered someone who used to work for Queen went to one of QAL concert in Canada. And after the show he went to meet with Brian. He told Brian that the show's sounds and feels like it used to be, like when they're with Freddie. Adam with all his talents can bring all those Queen's magic alive again. He's just the perfect and right guy for the job. I honestly don't think they could do this without Adam, the "Gift from God" and "one in a billion voice"! He brings so much to this incredible presentation of Queen in its latest iteration. And I also loved this interview so very much!! It is obvious the love and respect that these three have for each other - so wonderful to see! And not to rehash the "granny" posts from a few days ago, I readily admit that I am a technophobe, and without the help of my wonderful DH (software engineer) I wouldn't even be able to post here. The Denver TOH concert was the first time that I had a seat in the first two rows, and my first photo op with Adam. I was so dazed during the photo process, that I didn't even realize that I had my head on Adam's shoulder, and he helped me through it in my altered state. I had the sense that this is a very gracious and kind man, and took care of this elder fan. So, no, I don't think he doesn't love the fans that are of a certain age. On to the wonderful QAL concerts that are ahead of us!!!!
