Sitting alone with a forlorn look on his face? I hope that was poetic license and he was just looking at his phone, because that hurt my heart a little I stumbled over this sentence as well. Since it was apparently at the end of the meeting, I hope his neighbors had only just left... And not that it is a throwback to middle school. Haha throwback to middle school .He is probably one of the most famous and successful of the group... maybe Adam stopped being charming for a split second and was seeking the correct time.LOL

melliemom thanks so much for the insight. Can only imagine how tough that must be as a mother and it only makes sense that you would be sensitive to that subject. I wish the best for them. My body has also been subject to a certain amount of attention. I lost 10 pounds, from 55-56kg to 50-51kg (166cm) after my first surgery. Now I'm up to 53kg again (BMI 19). Only a few weeks prior to the surgery my grandma had asked me if had gained weight. I was sporty, muskly, I did have strong legs but I was never fat in any sense. I get "Oh your so thin" on a regular basis and it annoys me more than it affects my perception of my body, or the way and what I eat. I very slim, but I'm consider myself lean, I would absolutely not say I look fragile. Tip of the iceberg for me was only two weeks ago, when a girl said to me "you're so thin" that has a lower BMI than I do...it's like...get of my back will ya?! I always asked myself if there is no way to promote a healthy bodyimage without shaming the "extremes"? I get it.. so intrusive.. Hugs to you

You made a lot of good points in your post, but this illustrates something important, IMO. When people post here, they are talking amongst themselves, not to Adam. That doesn't mean people should feel free to be disrespectful, but it's not the same as going directly to Adam on social media and belittling/criticizing/mocking him because he isn't living up to their expectations. Atop is not meant to be a venue to communicate with Adam, it's meant to be a venue to communicate about him. If Adam does read here, he's eavesdropping, in a way. That isn't to say he's doing something wrong - just that he's deliberately looking in on conversations he knows aren't intended for him, and presumably he's doing that because he wants to know what people are thinking. As long as said communication is respectful, which IMO it pretty much always is, I don't see any problem if he sees conversations about things that make some people frustrated, annoyed, apprehensive, or even just somewhat unimpressed. If he sees suggestions about things he could do differently. If he sees people answering the almost decade-old question "Whadaya Want From Me?" He's free to take action or not, but knowledge is power. This is the guy who went online during Idol even when he was advised not to, and I'm sure some of the things he saw curled his hair so badly the flat iron could barely do its job. We know he continues to lurk on social media. I sincerely doubt any well-intended criticism he may see here will faze him. Love this post and totally agree. Atop is not us talking to Adam but us talking to each other about Adam. I've been on both sides of the aisle, sometimes I'll post something because I know it's not just me feeling it but sometimes others who have less desire to be vocal. At other times I'll try and be a voice of reason with the sky is not falling. For all we know Adam is much more sensitive to perceptions of his fashion sense than he is to perceptions about his body shape. Adam has talked about having body issue problems..... Having a daughter and step daughter who barely eat and are beyond thin,I'm sensitive to folks talking about how fat or thin a person should be...For my daughter it all started with someone telling her she looked too fat.. She was curvy and beautiful at the time... Many men now share the same issues and starve themselves ,especially in the gay community. To me It's an issue like politics or religion..

It's always sad when long time members leave. However, I've always felt that this a place where Adam fans can share information and have a conversation. Conversations are not always 100% positive. As long as people are not being deliberately mean or vindictive, then they should be able to share their opinions. Everyone has different tastes and they should be able to share them here. I find it interesting how people can view things so differently. Some people worry more than others and they should be allowed to express that here. I've noticed the worriers often feel better after conversations where the more unshaken types show how Adam has got this! People's opinions might also express their cultural differences. I love the fact that we have members from all around the world here. Thank you Q3 for this forum and thank you to all the members who keep us informed and who share their thoughts and keep the conversation going! I agree with the above ,that it matters how one says what they have to say..I hope and wish that before someone writes something critical about Adam, they would give it the would this hurt me test . So many stars have been brought down by negativity...IMHO, many seek the lime light inorder to be loved and appreciated.

Lots of folks have left, not because they don't love Adam,It's because they DO LOVE ADAM..I will miss pattihum sooo much ,she is positive ,very informed on all things Adam and has been one reason I have stayed on Adamtopia.. I hope I can find her somewhere, because she is my go to person ,when I have been depressed by the negativity on this board.Sometimes I have felt ,"with friends like this, who needs enemies "in regards to Adam. The constant critiques on every inch of this incredible man ,has made quite a number of fans that I know move on to twitter, etc.Just saying.. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but sometimes a few fans opinions are just plain mean, petty, unfair and destructive. That's how I see it.When I have spent time begging many fans to play Adam's music ,or feel like I'm defending Adam from some of his own fans,it seems a bit too much. I'm not speaking for Pattyhum, because I have not spoken to her lately and didn't know until now ,that she left Adamtopia...I'm speaking for myself. As I said ,everyone is entitled to their opinion and this is my opinion .A thank you to the many fans who love Adam for who he is and for encourageing his decisions about his own career. A reminder ,Adam has not stopped working, almost non-stop, as an artist, for the last nine years.. In show business that's a miracle.. Pattihum is on twitter. Thank you.. I will follow Pattyhum too...https://twitter.com/PattiHum nice thing about Twitter,It only takes a couple of lines ..

I think I know what you guys are getting at. Adam nailed it, of course, but Melissa has such a different style that the song kind of lost its footing for a bit. Adam's great at riffing and playing with a melody. And Melissa has a gritty, bluesy style with a husky voice. They both did a little ad libbing with this performance and it lost its way a bit, IMO. But I loved it anyway, and I think the audience did, took. I liked Adam's riffing at the end and his lower register stuff at the beginning but some artists do match up better than others, I think, and some songs are better suited for duets than others. All in all, cool that they performed together for a worthy cause. It sounds like the audience loved it. bullsfan , I don't disagree, "some things just translate better in front of a live audience---and this moment is probably one of them." I never liked that song to begin with ,although I love Melissa. Adam and Melissa Singing Come to my window would be my choice To add I think their harmony was terrific and I did love the bit of competition. I thought Adam did a great job,Melissa is a tough act to sing with or to follow, but Adam had moments of blowing her away..LOL

This is a very sobering article. And I urge others here to read it. It just underscores the fact that Adam needs to diversify as much as he can. It would be ideal if he could keep rising and succeeding for a lifetime on his music alone (and I do hope that happens.) But the music industry is so homogenized and manipulated now, it's ridiculous. Adam will always be a singer. But I'd love to see him spread his talents into acting, producing, social advocacy, TV opportunities, marketing, etc. He's got a lot to give. There are so many singers out there and The Voice ,American Idol, etc. keep turning out more.. At least the shows create jobs for a few singers as judges.. Many performers are turning to other avenues..It's sad all the way around,so many can't make a living. Adam is lucky he has Queen for now..I would like him to focus more on his solo career, but where will it get him, unless he's one of the handful that gets played. hard business.I think Adam is very smart,so we'll see what he does to keep all the plates spinning at one time.
