First, I want to thank everyone again for bringing over all the Queenbert concert vids, pics etc. It meant a great deal to me as I had to cancel London at the last minute due to an ear infection. NOT asking for sympathy. One never knows how important a post might be to someone else and the wonderful feast of information made me feel very much a part of Kiev, Moscow, Poland, and London. I want to acknowledge this to anyone who might ever feel that their 'little' recap or post might not be huge to another person. Thanks again!! I find myself utterly fascinated by Queen. Now that I have heard what songs in their catalog they chose to perform with Adam, I went back and viewed with new eyes the BBC documentary of Queen done awhile back. I was not a Queen fan 'back in the day'..I had other musical tastes. I only knew the songs that were ultra popular in the US. The documentary was so informative..John Deacon's role, for instance. He was behind some of Queen's biggest hits. 'Another One Bites the Dust' sold more than any other single but almost didn't make the album cut. Brian May contracted hepatitis during their first US tour and had to be flown back to the UK. Freddie was getting a lot of pressure to cut 'BoRap' to make it radio user-friendly..he said..'fuck it..they'll play it or they won't'..and refused to budge. So many vignettes about the emotional atmosphere occurring around the time of certain album productions. Fascinating two hours. I was rapt again. How this ties into Adam is that he, as well, is not mainstream. Some of Queen's attempts to be more mainstream were disasters. But they kept on creating. Adam is flying solo which has to be most difficult since you don't have a constant 'team' writing and producing with you. Egos in a team can also cause difficulties as Queen noted very openly. Where this is going is that Queen needed radio as well. They needed to sell to produce and the going wasn't always good. That is why I think the time that Adam and Queen spent together was invaluable for Adam particularly as he was 'inducted' into the inner circle. No doubt hearing many stories and getting some advice when asked. And encouragement. I have no desire to get into radio bashing with this post. I do share what I see is a Queen reflection in Adam. He mirrors their circumstance in many ways..and Adam will continue to record, one way or another. I want to see Adam be Adam. I truly believe at some point, like Queen, Adam WILL break through and break through BIG. As long as he has the fire and desire. Long mofo post..whew..didn't know I had anything to say today..lol.. oh, btw, the FAULT-turtle finally made it to Austria as well, right when I was in London of course ... nice magazine I have to say, but by now no competition to the fashion of The Blondes and Skingraft of course. Well, onto the shelf, and a copy for a fashion addicted friend. Congrats on getting your Fault.

Well, all packed for Costa Mesa and Fantasy Springs. Or should I say wayyyyyyyyyyyy overpacked!! I am sooo excited. I just upgraded my seats in Costa Mesa to Circle Row AA!!! Tickets were 107 and with fees 134!! I couldn't believe that price, so I jumped on it. I have two extra seats if anyone is wanting/needing any.
And just wanted to say that after a little more than three years, WE FINALLY GOT A BELLY BUTTON PIC!!! OMG!!! AND IT LOOKS AS CUTE AS I ALWAYS THOUGHT IT WOULD!! LMFAO!!!!!

This is the @adamlambert that I remember - his jr. yr, my snr yr. twitgoo.com/5zmq91 Windy Day @faeries517 What he wrote in my yearbook. twitgoo.com/5zmq9w In what Adam wrote he showed he already was more evolved than your typical High School Jr. I know!! "You really have so much to you!" Really! What 16 year old says that!

Lÿndsey Parker @lyndseyparker Here is my rant about who I think Idol should hire to be Season 12 judges. Agree with my points? yhoo.it/OS9a9l music.yahoo.com/blogs/reality-rocks/why-american-idol-hire-non-celebrity-judges-001744276.htmlWhy ‘American Idol’ Should Hire Non-Celebrity JudgesBy Lyndsey Parker | Reality Rocks ... Adam Lambert? Mariah Carey? Aretha Franklin? Miley Cyrus, Fergie, Nicki Minaj, or Katy Perry? Charlie friggin' Sheen? Or even Caleb Followill from Kings Of Leon, a band that not too long ago actually refused to even license its catalog to "Idol"? All of these names and more have been mentioned. And some of these rumored candidates' names have been mentioned before, many times--like back after "Idol" Season 8 when Paula Abdul jumped ship, or after Season 9 when Simon Cowell, Kara DioGuardi, and Ellen DeGeneres all left, or earlier this year when Paula and Nicole Scherzinger got axed from "The X Factor." Similar speculation will probably run rampant again when "The Voice" likely retools its judging panel for its spring 2013 season. And frankly, these name games are getting a little old. Sometimes I feel like I could just dust off one of my archived "Who Will Be The Next [Insert TV Show Here] Judge?" articles from a couple years ago, refill in all the celebrity names, Mad Libs-style, and no one would even notice. ... Basically, I want judges with real industry experience, who can offer constructive criticism that will ultimately help the show's contestants evolve into the A-list recording stars they're supposed to become in their own right by the season's end. And many of the famous names being bandied about right now in the gossip columns probably wouldn't do a much better job of that than Steven or Jennifer ever did. Sure, some performers would be up for the task. I'd totally nominate "The Sing-Off's" absolutely excellent Ben Folds, or past great "Idol" mentors like Harry Connick Jr. or Stevie Nicks...or the aforementioned Adam Lambert, whose fabulous wardrobe and utter lack of filter would make for great television, while his unique background as a successful "Idol" alum would make for some great advice. And of course, no one, myself included, could ever quibble with an executive decision to hire a legend like Aretha Franklin, especially since Aretha already has a history of shooting straight with errant "Idol" contestants. ...more
