I got called a Diva by my brother-in-law one time and he didn't mean it in a nice way....but I think I deserved it on that particular occasion! Of course, Adam would just laugh at that answer, he's just willing to think the best of everybody!

What JHud says is " Adam Lambert. Uhhhhh..... I wouldn't even....... OK, I'm gonna be quiet. Yeah, Adam Lambert." Can't tell if this is a diss to Adam or Fanny? Since she later sort of refers to herself as a diva (skinny vs. fat diva), I would assume that she was placing Adam over Fantasia. I think it was a complement to Adam and a sort of backhanded diss to Fantasia. JHud should have met Adam during the pre-Grammy Clive Davis party. Clive gave a shoutout to Adam. Given that this year, she is Clive's girl, I would expect that she would support the artists that Clive is supporting.

I agree that as a "life rule" it is best and easiest not to take offense if it's not meant. And in this instance, I can't tell what she means. To me, because "diva" is applied to women 99% of the time, and not men - I wish people would not use it to describe Adam. Was David Bowie labelled "diva"? Or Freddie Mercury? Or Michael Jackson? I don't think so, so why is Adam? I'm such a "Debbie Downer"! I don't mean to be. I just think "diva" Adam, #1 on the Guyliner List Adam, is easier for SOME people to dismiss, discount. But, what are you gonna do? I always think these things are part of the "lies and contradictions" that Adam lives with everyday - and he does it very, very beautifully. He assumes the best in people until and unless he's proven very wrong, and he never acts bitter. I googled "Jennifer Hudson and gay community" for the hell of it. Interesting and unclear. In general, and I guess even in terms of Adam, I'm not overly inclined to take offense to things. It was just such a weird moment in the interview. I don't mind the diva word in some contexts. Sometimes it means fierce and fabulous, although usually that's applied to female singers. Sometimes it means difficult and high maintenance. I don't know what it meant here, so I'm following rabbitrabbit's example and picking the fabulous choice. ETA: I like 4msrmyn's idea that maybe SHE was having second thoughts about what the interviewer meant. Works for me.

jennifer and adam definitely met at least once... when he was a fashion correspondent at the grammys in 2010... adam was like bowing down to her in worship and then she tried to sing taylor swift. it was cute!
