Thanks, Wal and Spindleshay. It's hard to know what to say. Mr. Durbin was painfully out of tune in many spots. And I was glad to have the original to bleach my ears. Listening to it now.

James, Jacob, and Paul fans really got shafted with their small set lists. At least Haley also has the duet with Casey, plus the 2 girls numbers. Plus she does backup on a bunch of songs. Haley is on stage for 10 songs, so I am fine with her songs. My only wish would have been that she could have done something she didn't do on the show. So far, the recappers at Mj's have said that Haley gets one of the best receptions.

I did a recap for MJ's so I am just pasting it here. I don't think there are too many interested.
I had to drive from west and north of LA and I got to Ontario in record time, less traffic than normal! Carmeggeddon? Bull! First, this was the deadest audience I have ever seen at an Idol Tour. Paul got some people up, but then they were right back down. Naima got everyone up and the audience loved her. Casey was the first one though, that really got this crowd up and awake. He had the 2nd biggest reception of the night, IMO. I was one level up off the floor so could see the audience pretty well all night and I watched the audience a lot. Why? My attention kept wandering! I really hate this format!! I think part of the problem for the lukewarm reception that so many performances are getting is because of this format. There are 2 things wrong with it, IMO. 1) The transitions are awkward. The blackout with the performers just walking off stage and the next one walking on stage is pretty dull. With the countdown format, there is a number and a picture of the next person being flashed on the screen. It really gets that Idol’s fans up out of their seats and cheering for them before they even walk out. In this format, everyone sits down as soon as the current performer leaves the stage. 2) Pia sucks the energy right out of the room. I am not a Pia basher and have not been on the “hate Pia train.” But wow! The girl has NO stage presence. And Thia is only slightly better. I liked the BTW opening number (the girls sound great,) but then Pia comes out and I swear everyone is falling asleep. There should be 2 high energy numbers in a row at the opening. “New York..” may be a great song for Alicia, but I think there is probably very little interest in it outside of NY. It is actually very boring. Soooo, Paul gets the audience finally up and moving and then Thia comes out! Stefano’s and the guys’ numbers are energetic (although hardly any people are standing and dancing during them.) I agree with Ratna and those who said I think people love Stefano’s songs and that’s what they are reacting to. I did see quite a few young girls with Stefano pics that they purchased, but his wasn’t one of the top 4 receptions last night. Actually, in all honesty, this was the oldest audience I have ever seen at an Idols concert. So, not very many young tweens or teens there, who I think Stefano would appeal to the most. The crowd got up for Naima but once again, Pia just sucked the energy out with the single. She sounded great, though and did get nice applause at the end. Group number was fun. Casey!! This is what I would consider his hometown concert and he got a fantastic reception. It was the 2nd best of the night. He asked if there were “Idlywilders” there and cheers went up around the arena. Not too many, because Idlywild is a very small community, but they were there. Audience loved his set, loved all of his songs and loved Haley. Moanin may be the performance I will have to check out for each show because Casey is getting very playful with the lyrics and with Haley. And I know he is surprising her each night. I hope someone got last night’s on video because it was really cute. Impression of first half— too long! Lauren got a great reception when she came out. She seems to be recovering great because she was all over the stage. When she bantered with the audience she was relaxed and it seemed natural. James!! I am not a James fan but this boy got this dead audience up and screaming and clapping and dancing and never once did he tell them to stand up. Not once. Of course, you have to stand when he walks in in order to see him. But no one wanted to sit back down once he was on stage, which is what happened for pretty much everyone else. James did good! The audience loved him. One big critique of his set was the last 3rd of “Uprising.” It really was nothing but screaming and actually hurt my ears. There were 2 twenty something girls walking out to the parking lot behind me and their major discussion was James and how bad his screaming was during Uprising. He needs to work on this because I can see throat damage down the road for him if he doesn’t learn how to do this properly. But, James got the biggest reaction all night. And the Idols who came in 2nd (Casey,) 3rd(Scotty,) or 4th(Haley) didn’t even come close to the reception that James got from this crowd. It restored my faith in this audience. Here I thought they were dead, when in reality it was a Rock n Roll audience waiting for James! LOL! Jacob sounded great and got a nice reception. Most of the audience sat back down, after James, but there were pockets of dancers. Even those who were sitting, stood up at the end and gave him a standing O. Haley got a fabulous reception. Lots of cheers and reactions during her scats and “vocal play.” The girl is sexy hot! I see nothing slutty at all. She just moves with the music. The crowd loved her. She plays to the audience and interacts with the crowd(Pia and Thia do not.) There was a guy, in about the 4th row, on the floor, videoing her and she noticed him and walked right over to stand right in front of him for about a 3rd of her song. His video is going to be amazing! Intro for Scotty is cute. It reminded me again of why I love the countdown format better. Really got the audience screaming and ready for Scotty. He sounded fantastic. his voice is really something to hear in person. That deep baritone… different. It sounded pitch perfect too. I was giggling though at he and many ladies in the audience stretching out their arms for the “this big” part of his song. Seemed to be the thing to do. Finale, to me, comes off as disjointed. In past years the final 2 songs seem to build as more Idols walk out onto the stage until they are all there for the final song. This year with the way that James & Lauren, then Haley, Paul, and Casey sing a very short part of the song , then walk off, to me is just another bad transition. One more opinion, I really think every contestant deserves more than one song, if for nothing else, at least for their fans. I feel like the Paul, Thia, and Naima fans got gypped. There is too much Pia, Stefano, and group numbers and not enough of the top 4 doing solos. Give me the mini concert format over this one anyday! This concert was sold out, BTW.

Thanks for the recap, mys*&@^#r. LOL, it's amazing how I've forgotten who so many of these people are. I watched whole season and once they were done, more or less forgot. So strange how different it was for me with Season 8.
Why doesn't Pia work on her presentation? She got killed (and cut) for that yet she doesn't learn? She's a gorgeous girl with a great voice. Why the cement shoes?

Thanks for the recap. You confirmed my thoughts about Pia. I guess she didn't listen to anyone about improving her stage presence. Even Adam who praised her, said that. I love Casey and I want him to do something in the music industry.i really hope he will. He was the only contestant that I was really interested in.

Haley is so far and above beyond the other girls in stage presence and performance. It is so obvious! She dances and feels the music. She flirts, she makes eye contact, she poses for people with cameras (sound familiar?) she asks the balcony, "How you doin up there?!" :D Lauren and Naima do a good job, but still not close to Haley. And Pia and Thia, 2 beautiful gilrs with gorgeous voices that do nothing but sing. I actually think even Thia has more than Pia does. The funny thing is, someone forwarded a tweet that Pia sent out after the Nokia show on Friday, thanking Mark Ballas for helping her with her on stage moves and how much better she felt now. But, in Ontario, she was exactly the same! I saw no improvement at all! I think there's a big disconnect, for her, on what she thinks she's doing and what she is actually doing!

Thanks Mys*&@^#r! I have never really followed AI, and certainly didn't pay it any attention this year, but have been curious about James as he is from Santa Cruz, and I live in that area. I'm not a Durbin fan, but am somewhat interested in how he is doing. I also like hearing your overall review of the concert with it's pluses and minuses as I know you are quite the Idol follower and have a lot of knowledge to draw upon in making comparisons. Sounds as if the concert format sucked a lot of the potential out of the show.

Thanks mys*&@^#r for the recaps. I keep on looking the music critics review for this season 10 Idol tour but I couldn't many of them. I remembered in S8, in MJs we would always get article review the next day on the headline thread, but this year I couldn't fine any. Maybe I overlooked it. Anyway, I was trying to listen to James SCOM YT yesterday, just the first one minute I could do it. He screamed and it hurts my ears.
Ohh I meant to ask why did you said that Adam is not only broke AI but also broke the AI tour?

Because neither has been the same or lived up to its potential since Mr. Adam Lambert graced their stage!
