Hi, I need to find the gifting thread too :-) I know that Sister Soldier Project is very grateful for any of Adam's CDs and now DVD's. They have sent out over 500 FYE CDs gifted by fans so far to women soldiers around the world www.sistersoldierproject.com/ (address is at link - ok to send to post office box) - there were about 6-8 copies on the end cap new release section plus in the Pop/Rock Adam Lambert section there were 2 more (plus 2 FYE, 1 Take One, and 1 of the AI 10 yr compilation (?). Cost was 16.99 - a little bummed because all of the other new releases in this section were on sale for 9.99 or 11.99 so it made GNT Live seem expensive - it's rather hard to tell it's actually a DVD/CD set unless you pick it up and inspect (at least for my old eyes). Ha - I'm crazy, I bought one just in case they don't sell well there - I'll have to find someone else to gift I guess. ETA: Just went searching for the gifting thread but couldn't find it - if anyone can direct me, I'd like to gift this copy I bought to someone who needs one.[/quote]

oh dear we're rehashing the show that can't be named....I better go do some cleaning! lol!
I won't rehash it, but I'm happy to name it:
Adam's IMO unforgettable and ground-breaking AMA performance of "For Your Entertainment."
(I'm the "forever defender" of Adam Lambert's AMA performance of FYE, which I loved. The other day, someone called it "a mistake" - not in my book, or posts at least - never.)

I don't think any of us have forgotten or are ignoring the simulated sex in Adam's performance. I think we all know that it wasn't just about the kissing part. The "kiss" is more of a shorthand reference for it all and I don't feel like I'm being dishonest when I use it that way.
This, too. I'm still shaking my head over the fact that when the picture of the kiss was shown on news reports later, it was more often than not blurred out. As if the sight of lips meeting was pornographic. So it's not overstating the case to say that people were majorly freaked out about the kiss, and therefore it's valid to use it to sum up the furor over Adam's performance. I'm glad you brought up the blurred out aspect. That was what the media was making a BIG deal about right afterward. Also, I remember the commercial breaks during this show. They kept upping the hype, "What will Adam do? Stay tuned to find out!" and BS like that. In all the conversation afterward, that point didn't seem to get much air time. They knew Adam's act was going to be 'out there.' Where the exact line is when Adam deviated from rehearsal....we may never know. The FCC thing was focused on the kiss wasn't it? I might have to rewatch the THS. It was mentioned in there.

OOT
Trivia Charles and Diana were married in 1981 and William was born in 1982.
I remember the royal wedding and the prince's birth so clearly.
I hadn't connected the time frame with Adam until today.

OOT Trivia Charles and Diana were married in 1981 and William was born in 1982. I remember the royal wedding and the prince's birth so clearly. I hadn't connected the time frame with Adam until today. I will always remember January 1982, because I moved to San Diego on the 15th, exactly two weeks before Adam was born. Of course, he was still in Indiana at that time, but it delights me to be able to recall almost exactly what I was up to at that time--namely, buying stuff for my apartment! OT to the Adam discussion, but you mentioned Charles and Diana, and I had to laugh at myself the other day. NBC's Dateline was doing a show about that royal wedding, and the commercial for it showed Diana with her little flower girl. I idly thought, "I wonder if that flower girl is all grown up now." Then--DUH! Of course she is! William wasn't even born then and he's an adult! It's amazing to me that I am old enough to have seen a whole new generation of royals be born, grow up, and get married. Time is weird.
