My two cents.....
Why is sex in all its beautiful forms viewed as scary, while violence for the sake of power is shoved in our faces?
Our bodies are put to better and more joyous use while expressing carnal desires than lashing out in violence and bent on obtaining power.
Chris comes from a violent upbringing. Violence is all about power. As a child he wet himself in the corner while his step-father beat his mother. When he feels powerless he seeks power in the only way he knows how. Those around him feel pity and treat him like a child. Hoping not to upset him, they wear kid gloves and invite him back into the fold.
Adam grew up in a house full of love and acceptance. He has gained confidence in himself after years of positive reinforcement and inclusion from his friends and family, and now with peers and fans. His ease within himself has allowed him to comfortably express his sexuality on stage and in his life. Many are made uncomfortable by those that are comfortable with sexuality.
It is easier for most people to accept someone they see as suffering or hurting. Violence and power are less scary than sex. How sad.

[OK. Now I'm confused. :-/ Which one is the beautiful one and which one is the "easy" one? Heehee! I'm sticking with my interpretation. They're both beautiful, but Tahoe is cheap & easy. Joshua Tree is more interesting and exotic

Replying to this cuz it's obviously THE most important question of the day, LOL. My take on it is that Adam and Ferras were hanging out and Ferras was quoting Adam. And since they're guys, ya know, they were talking about sex and their own relative desirability to others. In terms of tourist destinations and natural attractions in California, Joshua Tree National Park is considered pretty exotic and not for the faint of heart, in terms of intense weather, terrain, out-of-the-way location, etc. Whereas Lake Tahoe is a pretty "easy" destination-- lots of bars and cheap attractions. Everybody's "done" Tahoe (Ferras), ya know? Joshua Tree (Adam) is more for adventurers and those who want a more ~intense experience... Alrighty then, I feel like this was time well spent! : ;D SOOO well spent! This is fantastic analysis, NoAngel (and who knows? could be on the money ;D) Joshua Tree is a HUGE memory for me--only time/place I've ever been in the middle of a dust storm. Visibility zero. Aunt pulled off the road, we closed vents and it was very scary. Grapes of Wrath come to life! Exotic adventure.Yep, that's Adam! Melliemom, YES to Adam--would love to hear him as Valjean singing "Bring Him Home" or even Javert "Sentinel". I've seen that play 3 times and I still absolutely love the soundtrack. I'm with you--this would make me so very happy. Chunkey, another fab and funny recap, and gelly THX for the white shirt KFest pics. My heart is full and my loins (need to be) girded. And your comment "Run Wal Run" made me thing of Forrest Gump: "Run Forrest Run"! Your GNT dvd has arrived!! ;D P.S. How long will Wal be lost to us? Any bets?

This is funny No Angel. I saw it the same way except I interpreted it the exact opposite. Joshua tree is a "poor man's" national park experience. Camping in the desert. Where as Tahoe is beautiful, upscale, and expensive!! :D OK. Now I'm confused. :-/ Which one is the beautiful one and which one is the "easy" one? I didn't see it as necessarily about sex (though that works too) but about personalities. (and Ferras isn't necessarily the Lake Tahoe, it could be somebody else Adam was talking to). Joshua Tree is for hippies wandering into the desert, backpackers, adventures, wild-at-hearts; Lake Tahoe (as a stereotype) is tame, overdeveloped, a mix of rich skiing yuppies and suburbanites hitting the casinos. Joshua Tree is Adam in his drag race party poncho, Lake Tahoe is yer boss in his golf shirt.

I'm sorry if this has already been answered.....but I have been feeling kinda low here... no DVD yet(living in Bermuda is not so good if you are a AFL stan!!!!!!!!!!!) and no signed photo either. Did you receive a request to send the email or did I miss the boat AGAIN and was supposed to send it?? Does anyone know? (help!)I received an email that I had to respond to. Are you a member of ALF? If so, Lane has a blog about the photo and you could leave a comment and see if one of the mods can find out for you if emails are still being sent Just got back. Thanks TINAFEA! for that suggestion. I will try that!

On the GNT and Walmart....
I don't know if their policy has changed, but Wal-Mart doesn't carry CDs with explicit lyrics. Although, the CD doesn't have any warnings about the lyrics, could it be that Walmart is not carrying GNT because of MF and Shit?
I did an on-line search and GNT doesn't show up on Walmart online.
