Hi all. Asking for some positive vibes out to the universe again. I'm having a basel cell removed from my face tomorrow, followed up by plastic surgery to hopefully keep me from looking like a freak. Send those thoughts out for me 'cause I'm a little nervous and scared. {{{HUGS}}}Take your meds and do your followup routine exactly as your told. It will all turn out fine. Lots of positive vibes.

I did not find the Eber interview that first mentioned the $50K job.... but here is a report from a blog. The original report is on SDNN somewhere. 2. Between musical theater jobs in 2003, Lambert worked at a cosmetics counter in an L.A. department store. His makeup and people skills were so admired, the cosmetics company offered him a $50,000-a-year job as a cosmetics demonstrator/trainer, but he turned it down to follow his performance dreams. I was not put off by the "anger." I related to it. I saw it more as intensity, "heat," release, and no regrets. I can't wait to see Adam perform on something, somewhere, again. Bridget, your reaction to the anger is interesting -- looking back now, I can absolutely see the truth in what you are saying. For me at the time, it was upsetting for a couple of reasons -- the first one being that I was so excited for other people to see what I saw in Adam, and I felt, at that time, that it was so uncharacteristic of him, and not what I wanted others to see. And that it would put people off. Which of course it did, for some. I remember the whole audience standing for him when he began, and then at the end of his performance, whether my memory is playing tricks or not I don't know, I heard silence. And for me personally, "angry" Adam was not what I was expecting, and anger often makes me uncomfortable -- I'm still working on my own issues with that. I do think Adam was both legitimately angry (over the OUT editorial, and also probably over the fact that he tripped in such a high stakes situation), and also legitimately nervous to be performing in such stellar company, with high expectations from both himself and others. But I think you are right that he took that anger, and that nervousness, and translated it into something more -- as you say, "heat, intensity, release, no regrets." I think that's a perfect description of how Adam made that performance iconic. Sorry again to have gone on about the AMAs again -- I really don't lose sleep about it or even think about it much, but when the subject comes up, I realize how much feeling is associated with it for me.
