Hi all again....thank you for the welcome  8toinfinity well, the first time I heard of his name was around June 2010, almost a year ago, so yay!! not that recent  and yes, I was living under a rock, I was surfing through local tv at my friend's place, and I stopped at Ellen rerun for Robert Pattison ;D, not a fan, just curious...and I remember thinking: poor guy coming after RP, which quickly changed to: who is this guy who got more scream than RP! My friends who are avid AI fan, like Adam, but not Adam fans, showed me two youtubes videos to explain about Adam: the mad world performance and the AMA performance ;D so, long story short, I catched the fever when i saw the expression on his face on youtube during the CBS early show....how brave, how vulnerable, how precious!!! I was at a major turning point of my life and I drew a lot of my courage thinking about his expression at that time...i am inspired!  Oh my, I think I write too much now, please shut me up...I am supposed to be a very good lurker :-[ one last thing tho, adam is more than "mad world' and 'AMA'..for me, I always relate him to one of my fav song title from green day: walking contradiction..he is! in a good way of course...he is wise but naive, he is fierce but childish, he is badass but sweet, he is manly but pretty, he is perfect but human....and the list go on. ~back to being a good lurker. - Welcome, from another "mostly lurker". Just had to say that I loved your description of Adam! He is indeed all of the things you list, and more. |

If you have a 7 yr old who keeps running around and running around and you keep saying, "You're going to fall," and she falls you can do one of 2 things when you pick her up.
1. Tell her "I TOLD you you were going to fall!"
2. Pick her up, hug her, and tell her to be careful then drop it.

The reason there are traffic jams at accident sites is often because many people cannot resist looking at others' misfortune then talking for the nex 300 miles about what probably happened and how it could have been avoided, all the time having no idea what really transpired. It's more or less a ploy for attention and a declaration that YOU would never be so careless or stupid to do the same thing.
Some people are holier than thou about other people and their actions, seldom realizing in the aftermath, they are part of the problem instead of part of the solution. The reason there are paps and "entertainment news" shows is because we feed on gossip and scandal.
We all make mistakes, if we are wise, and I think we are, we learn from them. It is bad enough to have it all rehashed by strangers but is unforgivable to have it regurgitated for days by friends and acquaintances. If you fell on a banana peel at your class reunion, wouldn't it be easier on you if it was just dropped without advice on how to avoid the next banana peel or a sympathetic story about every person who had ever fallen on a banana peel?

There are times when the ostrich's habit of sticking his head in the sand is not a bad protocol. When he pulls his head out everything is back to normal and that is good.
By the way, 2 fuck-ups in 2 years isn't too bad, right? I wish my batting average was that good.
