What do you guys think of this? Dee Mentidd @spreckles Everyone following me get Spotify!! If we stream Trespassing we can help Adam in the charts I have Spotify. Will it really help? My honest opinion is that it won't do much. But, having said that, it doesn't hurt either.

Hmm I was a little surprised at Nile's lack of effusiveness over Adam the person, his voice, or song, when it seemed the opposite in his blog and tweets from that time, although he was quite complimentary about Sam Sparro. He talks about his lifelong bond he feels he's got with Adam. How is that a lack of effusiveness? He's there to talk about how HE makes music...that has nothing to do with Adam the person, Adam's voice or even the song Shady except insomuch as Nile makes a point of saying Adam left it exactly how he performed it, which IMO shows Adam completely respected what Nile did as an artist. As for what he said about AI, he's got the same attitude as a lot of people do...that AI is a fast track path into the business....the reason people have that perception is because AI downplays a lot of the work and time that the contestants have put into trying to make a career in music because they are "selling" the image of hometown heros....complete amatures who stumbled into opportunity and now have careers..... They don't talk about how Kelly or Carrie or Cook or Kris or Daughtry or any of them put years into trying to make it in music before Idol so people who have no idea about their backstory think they took the easy way to success. It's a shame because I think that's why so many people are dismissive of the artists who come from Idol.

We can't. It will take millions of people who are not current fans deciding they like Trespassing to get Adam to that level. No fan group made "Tik Tok" or "Dynamite" international #1 hits. For Trespassing to be a hit, there is no magic -- radio listeners, not mega fans, need to like the song. All that fans can do is to get it some early spins and exposure. And organized fan buying campaigns have never made a meaningful difference on the charts. Updated by Q3.Thank you for saying this Q3 I sometimes wonder if the fans do more harm than good with these "campaigns" because radio is smart enough to know the difference between street teaming requests and genuine intererst from their listeners. I know with WWFM I never once had to request it to hear it on the radio. It just happened naturally because the listeners liked the song. Do some artists get a better shot at radio? of course. Some songs a total shit (looking at your Rihanna with Diamonds) but the artist in question is a proven hit maker so it gets played. RCA/Adam's AR person HAS to work this song to radio or it won't happen. It's really up to them to get it on the radio so that non-fans can hear it.

I know I have been waiting for the time when I can help. Requesting isn't spamming, especially if you're calling/texting your local radio stations. If Asheville had spamming of radio it would be a miracle. :4OMG:

And, per my friend in Chicago radio---there is actually not as much requesting going on as you might think (for ANYONE) Trespassing is a great song. And a great radio song, IMO. But it will need a push.

RCA/Adam's AR person HAS to work this song to radio or it won't happen. It's really up to them to get it on the radio so that non-fans can hear it. That's another question I have. The general feeling I've gotten from the fanbase is that RCA/Adam's AR person isn't doing what should be done. Is that accurate? Is there something they should be doing that they aren't doing? ???
