Adam is not in the same situation. Ok. And how can we get him there, or near enough? We buy the single, and what else? If some radio stations won't play Trespassing unless larger stations play it, then it won't matter if we request it or not.

I tweeted messages to OUT and The Advocate magazines to help support Adam's trespassing on radio. It's time IMHO for the LGBT community to help. There has to be a major ground swell, for that, there is a need for more folks calling and writing to the stations. Who else can we enlist to start this???? Not to be a Negative Neil, but I don't see the opinion/support of gay magazines pushing any single to radio play. It's not like you hear Cazwell and Scissor Sisters on Top40/HAC. Their opinions aren't exactly high on the PD's watch list. And just a sticking point, there ARE plenty of us gays who support Adam (and other glbt artists), but we aren't a cure all. We aren't some sort of magic wand that one waves and fixes the ills of radio like some bad Queer Eye episode. We don't make up enough of the population to make that kind of push, certainly not enough to change the mind's of PD's if they don't want to play someone. About the only area you are likely to see affected is Dance charts, and that's just because they are small enough that a dedicated effort can be noticed. You want change on the Top40/HAC? Sorry, but the burden of that is on straight shoulders, just due to shear numbers. They are the ones who make up the majority of the audience, theirs is the opinion that PD's re going to be looking at. Believe me, the music landscape would be far different if gay opinions matter that much. Whether that would be a good thing or not, well . . . : JMHO -- it would be a good thing! Adam is not in the same situation. Ok. And how can we get him there, or near enough? We buy the single, and what else? If some radio stations won't play Trespassing unless larger stations play it, then it won't matter if we request it or not. We can't. It will take millions of people who are not current fans deciding they like Trespassing to get Adam to that level. No fan group made "Tik Tok" or "Dynamite" international #1 hits. For Trespassing to be a hit, there is no magic -- radio listeners, not mega fans, need to like the song. All that fans can do is to get it some early spins and exposure. And organized fan buying campaigns have never made a meaningful difference on the charts. Updated by Q3.

Most artists who hit big do so due to pure dumb luck. Right place at the right time, and all that. And honestly, the harder you push, the harder radio will dig its feet into the dirt. It is frustrating, but it's just the way things are. The best thing would be exposure. Well, duh, but I mean through other routes. Commercials, television shows, movies, etc. Hell, look at that "Da da da" song. It blew up specifically because of a commercial. If its well done, a commercial can definitely impact a songs popularity. It's just getting companies to use the songs. This is why the PLL episode is such an important thing.

I guess, we hope for the best. lol Let's see if Pretty Little Liars gives this single some kind of push too. Baby steps, people, baby steps. Rome was not built in a day!

TV exposure the best of all...that's where Adam really shines, stage and screen. Radio stinks.. Film about Rock music ,in the 60's not being played on BBC radio.. 'Pirate Radio'. love that movie . Sometimes innovative DJS just have to take matters into their own hands with new music LOL Adam is famous all over the world... radio the hold out...

Sorry, didn't see your answer before quoting Q3. Yeah, I think media exposure is the way to go, but that doesn't depend on the fans. That's a job for Adam's team, and IMHO the Pretty Little Liars thing could be great. I was talking from a fan point of view, about what we can do to push it as forwards as we can. We should keep asking for Adam monthly on that SNL "request an artist" thing too. ETA: Typo. lol

AND I wonder if BRuno had release NCOE, would I'm sure radio would have played the shit out of it and radio would have welcomed this song w open arms. I'm just annoyed because I see the a cold breeze again coming in for TP... of course they would... radio is not about the songs or singing...I think comparing to the names du jour play is very painful, as painful as (for me) listening to the radio. there were requests for the Dark thread: adamtopia.com/index.cgi?board=daily&action=display&thread=895I just want to say that I am not looking forward to a deja vu of radio angst. IMO we all know it is going to be hard, we need to request with the same passion we put into voting and do so via all means possible. I also think that we need to establish a clear understanding of the most efficient way to request BY STATION - as their preferences might differ. For NY/NJ area I am going with this order: 1) text 2) tweet 3) call 4) mediabase I need someone in the knowledge to comment on this order. We know that the SONG is terrific and that the SINGING is terrific! We have to hope that RCA is doing the part and WE, the people , need to REQUEST.

I want more stuff like PLL. However, by now it seems to me that Cuckoo fits PLL better and it has more exposure. I want Trespassing music video has kicka$$ choreo.

I am not much of a radio listener, but last era, I requested in the stations in my area, but no luck. I will try harder this time around. I think we should start a twitter campaign. I will gift the single as soon as it is available on iTunes Spain to my friends. Many of them won´t even listen :-( but they will download because of my begging. How do you request songs? Phone calls? Which radio stations did you try? Last era, I phoned Rock FM (Cadena Code), Cadena Ser, ABC Punto Radio, Europa FM and some others which are very local. I did not find how to request online. Will check this time around.
