Yeah totally agree, I mean there's no way that anyone would genuinely want to vote for Brian based on those criterion or prefer him to Jimmy Page! Damn it Glamberts! Yeah, that Guitar World editor who chose Brian May must have been stoned or something : : ... /sarcasm The " Halo Effect " I guess comes into play with these rock celebrities - This is not science but passion... even a keen ability to appraise guitar music is still affected by personal likes and dislikes that cannot be objectively quantified...so if Brian May has become more likable and it spills over into liking his guitar skills ... then he deserves it...

Yeah totally agree, I mean there's no way that anyone would genuinely want to vote for Brian based on those criterion or prefer him to Jimmy Page! Damn it Glamberts! Ouch. The people who vote on most of these polls are not experts; historians; or even classic guitar fans. They are just people who have been moved, reignited, energized, brought to feeling, or experienced something through the magic of music. I watched Jimi Hendrix play our National Anthem at Woodstock. But I was moved beyond any words of explanation with a 'one note' Brian May played on the stage during 'Who Wants to Live Forever'; left bereft, hearing the desire from his guitar in 'The Show Must Go On'. Polls that allow 'the public' to vote will always be swayed by emotion and love and connection. Damn it! I love Brian May's life work. I love his excellence; I love his passion. I can see his heart as an extension of his notes; his beautiful, ethereal notes on tiptoe. Not speaking as a 'Glambert'. Speaking as a fan of Brian May. Well, for what it is worth, I went there to see for myself what you all are talking of [the comments I mean...yes I voted when I could] but now I get a blank page with a curt note saying I do not have the right to be there.....hmmmmm.....

We will never know how Brian beat Jimmy Page but Adam fans certainly helped push Brian. There is no way to determine if this shifted the poll but my GUESS is that it might have. Since Adam never supported this effort, I can't see any way it will affect him. And as far as I can tell, this poll has no real meaning -- it is a fan popularity contest that allowed spamming. In what was a meaningful poll from Rolling Stone, they "assembled a panel of top guitarists and other experts to rank their favorites and explain what separates the legends from everyone else. Featuring Keith Richards on Chuck Berry, Carlos Santana on Jerry Garcia, Tom Petty on George Harrison and more." This is a case where I think they got it close to right. #26 Brian May ..... #10 Pete Townshend #9 Duane Allman #8 Eddie Van Halen #7 Chuck Berry #6 B. B. King (underrated IMO) #5 Jeff Beck #4 Keith Richards #3 Jimmy Page #2 Eric Clapton #1 Jimi Hendrix Read more: www.rollingstone.com/music/lists/100-greatest-guitarists-20111123#ixzz28Hnz9gDW

I love Brian and I was a Queen fan before Adam was born. Rock fans will have to try a little harder. However, I will not vote against Hendrix. As for this argument, there is no right answer. We all have our own feelings and opinions, and we will not change anyone's mind. I'm tired of this argument and I hope we can move on soon.

I think we have pretty much taken this as far as possible relative to Adam Lambert.
The topic of Brian May and guitar polls is closed I will delete any additional comments on the subject UNLESS THE COMMENT INVOLVES ADAM NEWS.
Thanks!
Now back to Adam.

This is what Adam's assistant in Shanghai had to say about working with him:
"真心喜欢和这样的国际艺人合作,工作态度一流人又超级随和nice, 大家还可以象旧朋友一样外出吃饭聊天喝酒分抢美味,说话的时候总是很真诚地看你的眼睛,逛街购物勾肩搭臂自不比说,另外你给我试的私人口香糖口味的确不错,下次记得从LA再带买些过来吧哈哈〜"
In a nutshell, "absolutely a pleasure and joy to work with Adam! He's such a professional, yet super nice and easy going. We hung out almost like old friends: going out to the restaurants and even fighting over who gets to have the last bite, and shopping like buddies. He's so sincere and focused when talking to you, looking right into your eyes. Oh, Adam, I liked the chewing gum that you asked me to try, next time, bring some more for me from L.A., okay?? hahah!"I am just catching up and this made be go  :2tears: :4OMG:
