Good way to piss off all the classic rock fans who are actually voting based on guitar skills or importance to the history of rock guitar literature rather than based on thank you notes for being a friend. Yeah totally agree, I mean there's no way that anyone would genuinely want to vote for Brian based on those criterion or prefer him to Jimmy Page! Damn it Glamberts!

Yeah, that Guitar World editor who chose Brian May must have been stoned or something : : ... /sarcasm

I really don't think the Glambert vote put Brian over the top. The rock world is massive and Brian's votes seemed to go up rather fast once the poll was put on the Queen site!

Congrats, butterfly! I think that's the most one can get without having any official capacity...(correct me if I am wrong..) I am happy that Brian won. Getting to the top 4 is great! Good way to piss off all the classic rock fans who are actually voting based on guitar skills or importance to the history of rock guitar literature rather than based on thank you notes for being a friend. So far they have not found out who is driving these votes and what is going on, but if they ever do, then Adam is the one who will be hated on by musically inclined classic rock fans, who will feel duped by this. That is just another thing Adam needs in his life. Antagonism against him created by his own fans. Can only hope at this point that those guys never find out what is driving these numbers, because if they do, it is bad news for Adam. This is so short sighted, imo. I really don't see what's the problem here. Why do we have to care if the classic rock fans upset or not or whether they like what we do or not? Most of them never have like Adam anyway and have never think he has a rock voice. Why should we care??? I have loved Brian May even before I know Adam or before I became a fan of Adam. It's not like Brian May doesn't have any guitar skills. Brian May has a mad guitar skills. Rolling Stone put him at #26 The Greatest Guitarist in the world. So I don't understand why there's an objection of people voting for him. It's not like Adam fans voting for someone like Monte or Tommy.

By the way, the comments on the last round from yesterday were full of vile homophobic invective directed at Queen, Freddie, and Brian by Page fans. Not Page's fault but still ... made me sorry I could only vote once a day. If those guys are all burned up today, then it was the least I could do for an amazing and under-rated musician, composer, and human being like Dr. May. And let's just say I didn't see too many potential Adam fans in the bunch. Oh my gosh, I saw those comments too. I was disgusted by them. I thought about answering, but in the end I thought I should pick my battles. I was already on full argument with someone in Youtube who was saying that Adam should have stayed in the closet instead of "making his career all about being gay" and "showing us his worst". Seriously, I get so angry... Ugh. Me too. I think that rock elicits a lot of sexual feeling, especially guitarists, b/c obviously the guitar emanating from the crotch is hugely phallic. So the guys get turned on, and so do women. (Notice their are *never* women on these lists--except for maybe a conciliatory mention of Bonnie Raitt. It ain't gonna happen.) Anyway these guys "move" me in a way others don't, lol. And so do the great male singers, especially if their movements are sexual. (Who was it that mentioned that women respond to rock singers "straining" to reach a note? The association is obvious.) So male rock fans can be some of the most homophobic of all. What if they feel moved (or for Seinfeld fans, as George Constanza said, "it moved") and the person who is causing it is a gay male? Horrors! This is why I value Adam's male fans so much. They are above all the adolescent fear and are comfortable with being moved by the virtuosity of his voice. They don't worry about how it makes them look, and I don't think all those male rock fan boys would admit that all those oh-so-macho rock gods (Plant, Page, Hendrix, Daltrey, Cornell, and on and on) are actually sexually arousing in any way other than them wanting them to have groupies and sexual magnetism too.

What make you so sure that it's Glamberts ??? ??? ??? REMEMBER, Adam fans couldn't push Adam to win Idol or make his single to #1. Brian & Queen fans are way bigger than Adam fans so why the fingers pointed at Glambert :dunno:

Yeah totally agree, I mean there's no way that anyone would genuinely want to vote for Brian based on those criterion or prefer him to Jimmy Page! Damn it Glamberts! Ouch. The people who vote on most of these polls are not experts; historians; or even classic guitar fans. They are just people who have been moved, reignited, energized, brought to feeling, or experienced something through the magic of music. I watched Jimi Hendrix play our National Anthem at Woodstock. But I was moved beyond any words of explanation with a 'one note' Brian May played on the stage during 'Who Wants to Live Forever'; left bereft, hearing the desire from his guitar in 'The Show Must Go On'. Polls that allow 'the public' to vote will always be swayed by emotion and love and connection. Damn it! I love Brian May's life work. I love his excellence; I love his passion. I can see his heart as an extension of his notes; his beautiful, ethereal notes on tiptoe. Not speaking as a 'Glambert'. Speaking as a fan of Brian May.
