cassie, you are so right about the quality of his voice without any enhancement. I saw this audition, and although I fell in love with his voice, I was amazed at how "underwhelmed" (ermm, is that a word?) the judges were. Why weren't they all yelling, "Wow, that was amazing! You can REALLY sing!!". The reactions are very bland compared to other contestants they liked. Did they maybe think he was a "one trick pony" (a common critique)? That he couldn't be commercially successful in the current market? I just don't know. Has always puzzled me, because he is probably the best live singer AI has ever produced.

Britney's new song and video. It might look really familiar :-/, same director as FYE. Leo is in it, looking very hot! Admittedly never a fan of Britney--style over substance imo--but at least she could put on a show and move. Here it just seems like she is going through the motions. She looks dead in the eyes...vacant. And ALOT of quick cuts to see that she isn't really even doing any choreo routines, just a few steps here and there that anyone can do while the backround dancers are the ones who are really working for it. Most of the time it's just looking like someone is behind her giving her the heimlich. It's a great metaphor for what the music industry has become. Highly stylized crap forced down our throats so much that we are choking on it. LOL. |

I couldn't make it past the first minute of Britney's Time for Your Entertainment Miracles video. Not only is it a blatant rip-off, but her singing and dancing leads to just one question: Which is more robotic? Her voice sounds as if it's straight out of a computer and her movements make it clear that they had to do a lot of quick-cut editing to give even a vague impression that she can dance. lol!  |

:  Umm.....you *do* know what the "casting couch" is, right? ;D I think Nick is a bit past that....unless HE wanted the part so much he was willing to enjoy some time with the casting director!  I know what it is .. I'm just at a loss for an explanation on why all the mediocrity. I really can't see hoards of Nick's teenage fans running to see Le Miz.I guess I owe Nick an apology .. he is past the couch stage!! : OUR Adam would never stoop to that  at the thought My daughter (15) is a huge Nick Jonas fan. They had video watch parties during Le Miz and even a few showings in theaters. He drew a large crowd and got a new generation interested in theater. He is a good kid lending his name to charity (Diabetes) has more talent than Kesha, Britney or Miley. There is a lot of cross over between Jonas Brother fans and young Adam fans (look at the names on video comments). ETA: Nick wanted to do theater because that is where he got his roots. He was on Broadway as a child. Don't remember which shows. I can tell you when school is out if you are interested. LOL |
