Adam's Cape Town concert was brilliant fun! It was great to see Adam and Terrance together again on stage. I do miss Isaac's beat and pacing on drums. I loved the new set list, the dancing, and the whole look of the show and costuming for Adam and the band--the entire vibe. Adam's well on his way to reviving the '70s aesthetic he tweeted about: "I want Halston! Glam! Rich metallic jewel tones. Studio 54. Bowie, Queen, Elton, Cher Realness! . . . let's get funky and sexy!!! . . . I want Labelle, Funkadelic, early Prince, early MJ. !!!!"
Adam's performance of "Underneath" grabs and twists my heart. It's a dream of mine to someday hear "Nirvana" live.
I also especially enjoyed "Broken English," "Fever," and "Shady."
I appreciate the post-show commentary, analysis, and flailing here that comes from a place of love and joy and excitement and avid interest to fully know and experience the show. The varied perspectives that are shared makes virtual concert-going a much richer experience for me.
Thanks so much to everyone who's bringing over pics, tweets, and videos. I'm enjoying the videos we've gotten so far and hope for more. I feel for those fans with slow connections who're loading them for us. It always takes me anywhere from five to nine hours to upload one video.
When I started watching the videos, I was struck by how incredibly nicely all of Adam's clothes fit, and was sending silent kudos to his tailor, his designer, his body. And then I caught a glimpse of those leather pants from behind. The outfit is smoking from the front, though. Adam looks super hot in the pants from the front view and the leather-fringed sleeves are the sexiest things ever. Love them. I hope to see him in those fringes and also those amazing electric blue, sleek second-skin pants on TV sometime. I wonder if he'll wear that Trespassing outfit on VH1 Divas, and bring dancers, too? I hope so!
Yes, I had the same thought. On the whole, I think the live song could do without an audience response to that line. And I know some of the crowd reaction to it is simply salacious, but overall the audience response felt very similar to that moment in WWFM. If audience members heard the line in a solely sexual way, it felt like they were showing acceptance and support, for the sexual act itself, for Adam being so honest and brave on stage. For those who recognized the dual meanings of the very vulnerable lyric, it felt like they were also showing support and telling Adam he's loved and accepted in all his broken-openedness, and saying thanks for letting us in.

In the full context of the performance, I wonder if the response from the crowd, at the "....release, you inside of me" could possibly be similar to the "I'm a freak, so thanks for loving me" line in WWFM. I wonder if it might become this tour's line for the audience to show gratitude to Adam for being so open and trusting. Just a thought.
