I don't think you can ignore Kelly Clarkson. Wow, totally forgot about her. How many others are we missing that weren't #1? :( And where are all the women? We must be missing some...

I don't think you can ignore Kelly Clarkson. You are definitely right. I only looked at Billboard No.1 albums and so didn't even think of her. Why in the world was her album not No.1? What week did it come out?

What week did it come out? Her album had a slow start, but man, did it have legs. Maybe we need to look deeper at the chart for October-December. eta---revising again, lol; Mayer, Coldplay, and Kelly are looking good, next couple are a toss-up.

It was released October 24 and competed (I think) against either Scott McCreery or Evanescence.

Q3, what made you change your mind. This post is kind of a complete turn around from your post of Saturday where you said it has little chance due to no hit single. :-/ I have not changed my mind at all. My post included my predictions for what I believe are the favorites to get a Grammy nomination -- and I did not include Adam. I do not think he is a favorite. Being a favorite and having a chance to be nominated are two different things. Finally, I can't find anyone who reliably predicts the Grammy Genre category nominations accurately. With 500+ submissions and 6,000 voters, the vote is fragmented into lots of pieces. So it can take only 4% of the vote to be #5. *** There is not much reason to speculate. The Grammy submission ballot has been leaked on the web. Here are a few of the artists on the nomination ballot for Best Pop Vocal Album: Adam Lambert Justin Bieber Kelly Clarkson Coldplay Lana Del Rey Florence + the Machine fun Nora Jones Madonna Maroon 5 John Mayer Jason Mraz One Direction P!nk Rihanna Usher -- there are over 300 artists in this category. It is a very difficult category -- and much broader than the Male Pop Vocalist category that Adam was nominated in previously.
