Finally made it to the computer, other than e-mail checking, to check in. Down 1.8 lbs. from my last weigh-in 2 weeks ago, so recovered from going off the plan during my family visit and managed to lose some too, so happy with that. Actually went out to try on some jeans today, so I'll have an idea what size I am now, so that's pretty rewarding! Trying to be really good this coming week, as we'll have some European relatives visiting for about 4-5 days starting this time next week, so bound to be eating a little bit more than normal. Haven't seen my cousin in 20 years!
No chance to walk this past week, but hope to go for a walk Friday morning if it's not raining. Rihannsu, you're doing amazing with your walking! It's cooled off here some, so hard to believe it's still so hot where several of you live.
Wishing you all a successful week coming up!

Today is Wednesday right? Ok I did good despite not walking near as much over the last week. Back down 1.2 lbs since last Wednesday. Even though I over ate on several days the past week. Well only one that was actually over my TDEE but that one was a doozy! On my lowest activity day I ate over twice my normal calorie goal. Major pig out.

I was pretty good about my exercise this week: 4x walk 2x aerobics 1x swim (last time -- pool closed for the year this weekend ) 2x tractioning I got so stressed out about a combination of things that I had a little episode of nerve pain, but managed to stave off a meltdown, yay. I have some advice about healthy eating of fruits and veggies. Many modern day cook books are either "quick and easy," relying on convenience foods, or for foodies, featuring recipes with tons of ingredients and fancy techniques. Go to the used book store and find some older cookbooks and you will find great recipes for preparing fresh veggies that are often quite simple. I have a few cookbooks I inherited from my mom. This week in my farm basket I had a bunch of pears. Now WTH am I supposed to do with all these pears, I thought to myself. Pears are often not that great just to eat like an apple. I found a recipe for slow cooker pears and it turned out great and was so simple. I simply sliced the pears (leaving the peel on) and layered them in the crockpot with some grated lemon peel, some raisins, and a little brown sugar. Then I added 3/4 cup of apple juice, turned it on low, and went away for six hours. They turned out to be a great dessert that everyone loved. You could add cinnamon if you wanted but it wasn't necessary. Would also work for apples. You could also do a dessert wine instead of the apple juice if you wanted to be really fancy.

Wednesday - Check in Day
Darn it, Jab's late again.
lol rihansu, you deserved a bit of a break.
Junie, my guys like pears straight but I've never been a big fan because of the granular texture. Does your recipe turn out like pear sauce that you put on something else? How many pears did you have?

Jablea, I had five fairly small pears -- had seven originally but two of them went bad, another thing I don't like about pears. They seem to be hard as rocks and then suddenly collapse.
Anyway, they kept their integrity during the cooking process and did not turn into sauce. They were like scalloped apples. They had a really pleasant old-fashioned taste. It brought back memories of the simple desserts my mom often made, like custard and rice pudding, before chocolate was king.

That pear recipe sounds lovely Juniemoon. We don't eat many pears either, as we too find that most of the time they're not nice and ripe and do go bad quickly it seems.
Stardust, congrats on your progress!
I think pigging out is allowed once in a while, Rihannsu. I had some apple cake over the weekend, fresh apples from across the road, and thoroughly enjoyed it, but then left the rest of the cake for my DH. Ended up with a nice loss of 2.2 lbs. this week, so have passed the 45 lbs mark. Been buying a few new clothes too as most of my regular long pants don't fit anymore, pretty cool to be buying a size I can't even remember buying, it's so long ago! Also had a good week with the walking as I managed 4 walks. So all in all a really good week! Got company coming today for 5 days, cousin from Europe I haven't seen in 20 years, so busy day to get ready! Hope you're all staying on track, you can do it!

Oops! Forgot to check in on Friday. Didn't do too well due to a wedding weekend and then a birthday celebration. Was up 1.8 lbs but seems to be dropping off fairly quickly. Onward and downward!!!
