Timothy Greenfield-Sanders has worked with the 20×24 camera since 1986. In those years he used the 20×24 for campaigns for Barney’s, Tommy Hilfiger, on the set Steven Speilberg’s “Hook”, portraits of Presidents and First Ladies, and countless classic images of art world, cinema, and literary celebrities. We were particularly excited to have him agree to photograph at the We Are Family Foundation Celebration Gala 2.0 held at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on January 31st, 2013. The We Are Family Foundation, founded by Nile Rodgers is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the vision of a global family by supporting programs that inspire and educate the next generation. Their mission is to celebrate the vision of a global family by creating and supporting programs that inspire and educate people about mutual respect, understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity. The evening was hosted by actress Rosie Perez and Touré, co-host of MSNBC’s “The Cycle,” and included a concert featuring Adam Lambert, Nile Rodgers & CHIC and special guests, Taylor Dayne, Grandmaster Melle Mel, Grandmaster Caz, Kathy Sledge, Sam Sparro, and Russell Peters. Honorees of the Gala were Adam Lambert, the Unity Honoree, Jeni Stepanek , the Mattie J.T. Stepanek Peacemaker Honoree, and Daniel Stern, the Visionary Honoree.

Interesting article I ran across from my local Fox station.  It's about why tickets to concerts are so hard to get.

"Bridgestone is a great place to see a concert with nearly 14,000 seats. Here's the shocker for Bieber fans -- according to arena documents, only 1,001 of those seats were actually available to the general public.

Elizabeth Owen is a consultant for Fan Freedom Project, an organization putting a spotlight on ticketholder rights.

"There are thousands of tickets held back for every concert, and people like you and me, we get the leftovers," said Owen.

At Justin Bieber's Nashville show, 93 percent of the tickets were set aside, including nearly 6,000 for American Express cardholders and almost 3000 for fan club members. It's these tickets that can end up with scalpers.

Three hundred of those hard-to-get Justin Bieber tickets, the Arena documents show , were "on hold" for the tour itself. But just after tickets went on sale, NewsChannel5found them on re-sale ticket sites. 

Dean Budnick co-authored Ticket Masters: The Rise of the Concert Industry and How the Public Got Scalped. He says in this case Bieber's team may have scalped its own tickets.  

"It was pretty clear if you looked at the inventory set aside, much of it then went on sale on the secondary market, that the tour itself was doing that," said Budnick.

This is interesting. I've heard varying things before, but one thing about bolded part doesn't make sense to me. How is it when we have fan club pre-sales, people often don't get tickets or they get mediocre tickets and the premium tickets are on the resale sites the minute the general sale opens, so it's not like they were from a leftover "held" group? They're available immediately. Just the fact that you can start trying for tickets the second they go on sale and "best available" is 15th or 16th row (and this applies to Amex and fan club too, as I've done both), yet you can go directly to StubHub and they have blocks of 10 front-row (or better) seats all over the place. The only thing that makes sense to me is they come straight from Ticketmaster or or the promoter to up the profitability. And I'm not sure I would totally object if they were upfront about it. Don't pretend these are "fans scalping selling to fans," say right out you can get premium seats if you pay a premium. I guess with the broker sites, they can have a sliding scale for prices too. The tickets are now priced based on what people are willing to pay and not face value, which is free-market enterprise but still, be don't pretend that's not what's happening.
