Ok guys, unless one of us buys a radio station, we're Fk'd. Oh I forgot, all radio stations are controlled by one company or one entity, whatever!!!!!!! Thank God for stations like Energy and Liam's show. Wish there were more of them. That little smiley's for ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been listening to energy for the last couple of days (first opportunity I've had) and have yet to hear adam. Guess his time has passed. Have to find another station somewhere. :-/ I guess they can't survive on the Glamberts alone. They are going to have an AL day soon but not sure when!

I picked that review because it was significant in its ravaging of the MetaCritic score, which you cited as evidence that "Trespassing" was not considered all that great among critics. (That one review took it down like 10 points and one other very late UK review chipped away at that a little more to bring it below FYE. Prior to those last couple of reviews it was tracking higher than FYE.)
Additionally, the guy continued to respond to comments, which resulted in circular arguments from him, which pretty much undermined his original review, but there was no changing it at that point. I can understand a layperson not understanding every lyric. I would totally expect that most people DON'T understand every lyric. (I've been listening to Elton John/Bernie Taupin my entire life and still don't know what half of those lyrics mean.) They're meant to make you think and interpret and broaden your horizons and strive to understand something you weren't aware of before. But a professional writer that is dissing the validity of a lyric without doing a simple Google search (as any eight grader would be required to do when studying poetry) then that is on him. I was using it as an example of lack of credibility with his arguments.

Hi guys! I have a quick question for anyone who knows: I am thinking of flying from London to Finland for the Helsinki concert in March. (WUT? YIKES!) Aaanyway. I am thinking of potentially investing into the VIP tix, for the first time ever. Do you happen to know what they include? The two options I am seeing on the ticket site are: - VIP For Your Entertainment (163 euros) - VIP If I Had You (213 euros) Do you happen to know what these packages include, or how I can find out what they include? My only question is why didn't the two songs released as singles get a fair shake on radio? They are good! Maybe not the best on the album but certainly radio good. Given a chance I think they could have done quite well. I played BTIKM and NCOE for a friend at work who doesn't follow Adam but loved WWFM and she loved them both. Of course she said why arn't they on the radio? Who knows I said! It's not that we didn't request. I understand that more established artists just get play because of their body of work or popularity but Adam had a successful album with FYE. so why not continue to play him? It boggles the mind. Because radio pd's and DJ are stupid dickheads. They think the only fans that Adam has are old matronly cougars. They think he has no young fans, which is their demographics. Therefore they will not play his songs, or they will just do it in spits and spurts and obligatory few spins to satisfy the cougars. They hate Glamberts and our voting skills. Again they think it's just a few Glamberts repeat voting, and not their demographics. So crap like Bieber, Carly Rae Jepson, etc get played because it supposedly reaches their demogrphics. WWFM was a differnt animal, he was coming off AI. I think Adam will always suffer from this, and we need to get used to it. Peeps like Katy Perry appeal to kids, tweens, teens and moms despite her age. Adam is the devil, may be too gay, too sexy too threatening for kids and tweens and teens. However, Pretty Little Liars proved us wrong in that area. He needs more radio and tv exposure to hit these demographics. Besides the wierd single launches and Trespassing launch and lack of promotion and the AI stigma and Cougar DJ prejudice (wow what a laundry list)... I am just going to say it... He's Gay, and since 47% of the US, last poll I saw, is still anti-gay - and a large percent of that is venomously anti with some ruling the airwaves and/or having money to lobby their hate agenda - I don't see that changing until A) He becomes beyond gay, like an Elton B) continues to have success internationally which trickles into the US radio/etc not being able to ignore him C) his next album is SO fantastic is cuts right through the Bull or D) more time and changing mindsets. But the elephant in the room is his sexual orientation (or maybe his sensual, sexual essence), and I suspect he is more than aware of that, even if it is not talked about in that light... There, I said it. It gets danced around - but deep down, I am sure a lot of us may think this too... That is why I believe it is so important for him to be himself and live his life - and I too believe his day will come. Look at the love and greeting he received this year for his B-day... many love him as much as we do. And I sometimes wonder if the legends that have worked with him or given him a shout-out feel this too, and want to help move things forward. Do they just do this strictly for his talent, or to also help him rise above the bull and prejudice - would love to know if any of the rebel spirit enters into the Adam connection for them and wanting to help a brother, so to speak, get a leg up - which IMHO he so deserves?

Melliemom I always feel how much you care about Adam. Yes, Adam has disappointments, but he also has big successes and big possibilities. If you have big possibilities, you have potential to face big disappointments. That is the life of a working artist. It is what he has chosen. In the end, you enjoy the successes tremendously and move on from the disappointments. Neither really define you. You remind yourself of the intrinsic joy in the process of creating art and eat at your home lunch table with people who celebrate high points with you, and are there to remind you of who you are when things get shady- and who don't value you any more or less at either end. From what I can surmise, Adam has these kind of people. I don't know him, but my sense after following him for quite some time now, is that he has resiliency as well. I could be projecting, but he feels pretty well grounded and well supported to me at his core- underneath his underneath. On to new opportunities to perform and to new music!!!!! ETA: Sorry, we talk about this a lot around our dinner table.

I really have no knowledge but I suspect getting played on radio is behind the scenes politics. I am not sure that sexuality is a factor because of the airplay that WWFM got. I think RCA somehow didn't do their job with the radio. Will DMG being on board help with pushing RCA to choose better singles and get airplay?
