Cassie I'll take your "smooth milk chocolate with layers of flavor to it" and some "hard rock screaming guitar" too!! How about Adam giving us both on his next album with as little 'production' as possible and the VOICE front and center!! and 24 tracks!!

Well, since we are doing the "wish list"
I am hoping he goes more Rock/Pop with some Ballads thrown in that showcase the stellar vocals. I agree with you Cassie, that he did say vocals up front and center - and while I think it was better than FYE in that regard... there is still a lot of production.
I am torn in that I love Adam backing Adam vocals and the acrobatics on the album/s. Something we don't get so well live. On the other hand, I really like his live shows - nothing better but since he can't clone himself for the backup vocals... only the album can showcase that aspect.
Runnin is a perfect example. I LOVE that song but wonder if I would feel the same live. Yes, of course I would still love it live, but what I mean is the layers of his vocal acrobatics may not be the same. And with anyone BUT Adam backing track it would most certainly not be the same. I cannot imagine the VJJ's doing the Runnin backup and giving me anywhere the same excitement as Adam backing himself. I even worry that could detract from the song. So who knows?
I am selfish... I want a production album, BUT I also want a live Album that is more Rock oriented with some ballads thrown in.
So Adam... can you just make a double album next time, lOL. Call it the double CD All candy and glitter v Pure and raw... and on the Live version have an audience since I LOVE hearing all the cheers and screams.
The one thing I do hope is that he makes whatever it is NOT to appease radio. I actually believe that when people stop trying to make things happen, it does - anyone know what I mean?
I really think he will get more US recognition this time if they do a better launch, and I am confident there will be something that can go to radio... just hope that the focus is NOT on trying to appease that as mentioned earlier in my post.

STAY All along it was a fever A cold sweat hot-headed believer I threw my hands in the air and said show me something He said, if you dare come a little closer
Round and around and around and around we go Ohhh now tell me now tell me now tell me now you know
Not really sure how to feel about it Something in the way you move Makes me feel like I can't live without you And it takes me all the way I want you to stay
It's not much of a life you're living It's not just something you take, it's given Round and around and around and around we go Ohhh now tell me now tell me now tell me now you know
Not really sure how to feel about it Something in the way you move Makes me feel like I can't live without you And it takes me all the way And I want you to stay
Ohhh the reason I hold on Ohhh cause I need this hole gone Funny you're the broken one but I'm the only one who needed saving Cause when you never see the light it's hard to know which one of us is caving
Not really sure how to feel about it Something in the way you move Makes me feel like I can't live without you And it takes me all the way I want you to stay, stay I want you to stay, ohhh Thank you bobo, when you sent words of the song Stay! Transcendent beautiful melody, and the crazed voice, but I could not get the words clearly, so that I would have understood them. Now that I understand the words, the listening experience is tremendous.
I can hear the angels sing ...

Guess I'm in the minority again - what else is new. I love.love.love WWFM which has lots of background singing, lots of production, lots of emotions and it hit me right between the eyes every time I hear it on the radio. Evidently I'm not totally alone in my WWFM love tho - Grammy loved it too. Well, not enough to make it a winner, but what the hay - it's still being played, isn't it. I DON'T want to hear Adam be another Andy Williams or Perry Como type if that's what some here mean by stripped down and plain and only a piano. I wouldn't like an entire album like that at all. That sounds so boring and "easy listening" like an oldies station. ITA (sans love for WWFM though..). IMO if Adam comes out with a stripped down ballads album- the #3 will also be his last. I also think that TP is PERFECT and I have no clue how he can improve...

Nica... I agree - TP WAS Perfect! Just had such a non-roll-out, not really any publicity to get any mass media recognition. I'll be blunt... the release seemed like a cluster fuck to me, and not in a good way that would launch the album to broader recognition.
And the single choices seemed like the example of trying to appease radio, and we saw how that went!
I was so sad that it didn't get the broader recognition it deserved... I love all his albums:-)
I hope he is the executive producer again this time too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

there is so much musicality in Adam's voice. I couldn't help rummaging the rehearsal videos to hear his raw vocals again

Whatever Adam does for #3, I really doubt it will be his last album.
I also do not expect Adam to want to release an album of ballads and I am certain that RCA would not let him do it.
And I do not want Adam to do an acoustic live album. But my fav Adam tracks tend to not have overbearing beat tracks and instrumental layering in the background. And none of my fav tracks from produced by Dr. Luke.
I am not opposed to post recording production but I want production that is a setting for the jewel that is Adam vocals. For most singers, the producer needs to add excitement and dynamics. Adam is not most singers.
Also, I do not think Trespassing is perfect and I skip NCOE every time I play it and the album version of BTIKM is just not on my great music list -- although Adam's vocals are killer on both tracks and Adam's live performances or BTIKM are great. But I never skip Runnin'.
ETA: Perhaps Adam could release an album where he records the whole album. The covers the entire album and they release two versions of even song -- the song and his live performance cover. That would make me totally happy.
