To be honest, I was not crazy about Adam's Era 2 live concerts. I don't know. They seemed a little one dimensional to me. Many of the songs having similar energy. Lots of pop that didn't really feature the best of his voice. Good, but I didn't feel the need to watch every version of every song of every show.
UNTIL KOREA AND JAPAN. The current show is not a pop concert, it is a theater piece in three acts. I am in total agreement with Aleks. It all works so well together, shows Adam's many different styles, is in turn fun, joyous dance music; a soul-touching deep second act; and sexy, crazy, slightly dark, high theater for final act. Adam commands the stage from start to finish. The sound of the singers and the band is the best it has been, and his voice is richer, more refined, more controlled, more mature, more effortless than ever. This show is understated brilliance. Adam shows that natural confidence as a performer that Brian May spoke of in the Polish press conference. I think Adam learned a ton from those veterans of theatrical pop/rock.
Also, are my ears deceiving me, or is Adam actually NOT using backing tracks for this set? I sure don't hear any, and there seems to be more flexibility in the delivery than with the backing tracks previously. What do y'all think?
Oh, how I wished Adam was performing this show in the USA!
THIS!
And I'm really sorry he's not performing somewhere near the CR this year. Alas, I can't go to Helsinky. I'm grateful for all the vids and pics, especially riddle601b's videos, they are trully amazing and I enjoy watching them so much!
