Despite not wanting to give them hits, I also didn't want them to think that people agree with them, so I wrote a comment. I'm glad to see a lot of people calling them out for not supporting a member of their community who has been nothing but a positive representative of the LGBTQ movement.

Wow.. as they sit in their safe cozy little office, with their AMERICAN partner to go home to, and no one to publicly harass them on a daily basis in open social media every time they sneeze, they criticize.
They have not a ** clue. And we wonder why equality is soooo far away.
Get it together boys. Jealousy will get you nowhere.
Adam is the bravest person anyone could know.

I think it's just a pr move. They saw how many hits they got from Adam's story, but probably nothing since then. So they decided to ride the wave, stir a little controversy, bring people back to SFGN, and draw some attention to the publication itself. That's my take anyway. Then IMHO this is really idiotic PR move - they should know by now that if they say something positive about Adam the effect would be the same if not better.

IMO - this is one of those times where members of the LGBTQ community need to do the criticizing - I have an opinion, but it is not one that will have even a tiny impact on these two people. I do not "belong" and as such have no right to critique their commentary. (snark) So I hope there will be some backlash from those who matter to the owners of SFGN.

I tweeted Shosanna to ask her opinion, is it better to comment on an article one disagrees with or will that just give the paper more hits? I don't know if she will answer.
Does anyone else have an opinion?

My opinion for wtw
From the Latin phrase - "Qui tacet consentit" (silence implies consent)
As allies we should be heard!

My opinion:
When someone needs to be set straight, you set them straight. (No pun intended.)
There are times when ignoring something makes sense--no one is ever going to get through to the Westboro Baptist idiots, for instance, so it's best to not let them know that they've even been seen--but in a case where an otherwise more-or-less intelligent person has said something wrongheaded, I think it's important to respond with articulate, sensible, and forceful arguments. I'm proud of the Adam fan community. Seems to me that the writer of that article would be hard-pressed to argue with most of the comments.

Just catching up on the thread and read the article ( Thank you Gelly for allowing us to read it without giving them hits-what they are so obviously looking for). FWIW, I agree with mehitabel. I would love to see us so called groupies ignore their site. But I would also love to know if any of the regular readers are defending Adam. It would do a lot to take away the sting of the article to see the Florida community come to his rescue. >:(

Adam Lambert fans, please do not mistake the view of our publisher with the view of SFGN as a whole.
Our associate publisher @jeparsley, who interviewed Adam Lambert, is writing a rebuttal editorial at this very moment.
