I think this song will continue to have life for a long time despite no airplay. Why, why couldn't they have led with it as the first single? I have been outspoken in my criticism of RCA choice of singles. But I cannot imagine a situation where Trespassing gets any more airplay than FYE. Trespassing (and I love the lyrics and melody) has a retro sound and beats and would have fit in perfectly in the late 80's. RCA selected singles that would appeal to Adult Pop stations -- HAC primarily which was Adam's strongest format during FYE. It makes intellectual sense to try and repeat the WWFM path and avoid another FYE. I wonder why they did not release "Cuckoo" as a single -- it was my pick for lead single -- and it was my pick for single #3. When Adam performed Trespassing and Cuckoo on PLL, Cuckcoo went up higher on iTunes and I think with radio support (equivalent $ to a first single promo budget) I think it could have been a top 20 song. But Adam would have had to agreed to spend the money to make Cuckcoo a hit and it would have been a very risky financial decision. In any case, no way to rewrite history and clearly Adam is working on A3. Wheels are turning. I just hope that their is a lot of real music, and a bit less synthetic music, and no "vintage beat tracks"! ETA: Kamar -- I am also so glad that Adam is starting off by working with Nile!! I thank it as a great sign for the direction the wheels will go.Nile Rodgers is perfect . But you know what I'm begging for ? Brian May . I would love Max Martin , too . Nile for Funk , Brian for Rock , and Max for Pop . Why not have the three genres in A3 ? But really , Brian May would be just perfectly perfect .

Cassie, since it is slow lately, I'll provide another trip back to Idol in 2009. (Sidenote on my train of thought: I listened to random play on iTunes, which I rarely do, and came across some music I'd forgotten about.) One of Sam Harris's songs came on, which I bought the summer after Season 8. I don't know if you know of the Sam Harris connections to AI. He was a winner on the popular talent show "Star Search" that Ed McMahon hosted in the 1980s and is a very good singer. He was flamboyant, costumed, and had an excellent high range. He had a few hits and has done musical theater and concertizing. His fans were drawing comparisons with Adam. At any rate, he came to my attention 4 years ago because people were linking to his video blog where he mentioned Adam a few times and also he interviewed Michael Orland (AI pianist/arranger who worked with Adam). Sam and he are age-old friends.
So here are some links from Sam Harris. I think Cassie will like his singing if you aren't already familiar him. You and I tend to have similar tastes. Here are some vlogs. They are lengthy but he's actually a pretty entertaining guy and articulate.
Posted Mar. 2009. Adam mention at 21:20. Also discussed are Liza Minelli, how to fold Tshirts, death, gay rights, fatherhood.
Mar 3 2009. Adam mention at 2:00.
May 28, 2009. Adam mention at 2:40.
April 30, 2009. Interview with Michael Orland. Adam mention 18:00
Sam singing "I Can't Make You Love Me"--very emotional, as is Adam's at Upright Cafe. CASSIE, when I think about having Adam's vocals at the forefront, this is what I'm talking about.
Sam on Star Search 1984 singing his signature performance of "Over the Rainbow." Definitely he has matured like a fine wine. Sort of like what we are in the middle of watching as Adam matures.

Some one posted on twitter (I lost the original tweet) - so nice to go back the memory lane... also, I just now realized that Adam probably "planned" to wear the white jacket - he stood out so much at that table! - great planning as usually: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ue3WVNKXd84
