Wikipedia describes it best - and it really is only celebrated in the state of Puebla in Mexico celebrating Mexico's victory over the French in 1862. I'm in Mexico and there is NOT A THING going on. However, May 1st was Workers day and is a paid federal holiday for all. Lots of parades, bands and bottle rockets going off all day. Banks, government, etc all closed. May 3rd, was Dia de la Cruz or Day of the Cross and is celebrated by ALL construction works who put crosses on all sites that have construction workers of any kind. Then at noon they all stop working and it's time for cerveza and tamales but the fireworks start at 5 AM and go on until midnight. REALLY LOUD!! I just turn up the music and listen to Adam all day! I find it very interesting and ironic that the May 1st international holiday was established as a result of events in Chicago - but completely ignored in the US, and Sinco de Mayo is rooted in Mexican history and is ignored there but celebrated by many in the US

Laura Saltman @laurasaltman 3h Happy Sunday morning. Here's an oldie but a goodie for my true @americanidol fans who still love this show www.accesshollywood.com/laura-saltman-my-top-10-american-idol-interview-moments_article_62315 … #3 is for us No. 3: Kris Allen & Adam Lambert’s Morning After
I had a special relationship with the contestants of Season 8, who — by far — will always remain my favorites. I know Kris loved coffee and was going on no sleep, so I figured he needed a caffeine fix. I remember meeting Adam when he made the Top 24, and we just instantly bonded. It was no secret I was a huge fan of his from the get go. Unfortunately, the day after the finale aired, many people were still questioning Adam’s sexuality. He had yet to come out at the time and it was brought up by the media at a post “Idol” press conference. So, I wanted to find out his reaction to it. When he mentioned he liked that people were “curious,” it just made me think “bi-curious,” which cracked Adam up.

Bringing this form yesterday's thread as I want to thank mshadows77 for uploading and posting the full version. It's been a slow day so I though I'd share this. I just uploaded the full performance of wicked, the one that Adam plays Fiyero in. I found the download link to this a long time ago on Tumblr, so I thought I would put it on YouTube so everyone could watch it. Oh and just a side note these videos might be took down because I got a copyright notice when I uploaded it. But other wise enjoy the videos!!! I actually expected to have more of Fiyero singing, but it was great to see Adam acting which for the most part was excellent! Makes me want to see him on TV/movies even more... My thanks, too. I was pleasantly surprised with Adam's acting. The beginning of the scene where he is first introduced has always seemed stilted to me. I thought "He's a great physical actor, we know, but maybe he isn't good at delivering lines." It was nice to see that elsewhere in the show, he is quite convincing and nuanced. And what a treat to watch and listen for two hours to excellent, well-trained voices! Because of Adam being a "pop star" I keep getting sucked into listening to pop singers, and even those that many rave about don't have the beautiful tone and precise control that I enjoy in this show. I know that there is a correct, expected sound from males and females in pop, just like there is a certain sound characteristic of country. The big-voiced, belting Divas do the "pop" sound very well. I just don't care for it. Listening to the voices in "Wicked" reminds me to go back and listen to other artists and styles that sound and feel good to me. Of course, Adam is the exception to every rule, isn't he? It still boggles my mind how he can sound so convincing in so many different styles, yet still retain the techniques and pure, resonant tone of his classical background. Adamazing!

ALEKSANDRA !!!! Wow . Just wow . Every word you wrote is true .....Just , I can't find myself in that zen place . I'm really impatient , and truthfully , I don't even know if I can wait for A3 the same way I waited for Trespassing . The reason is unknown . Maybe because it was a nightmare , and I don't wanna live it again . Maybe because I'm not as optimistic as before , In RL and in Adamland , everything is just .... boring ... some old , same old ....whatever .... AND there's the thing which I HAD ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE about , is the drama and angst AFTER he releases the album . Charts , voting , REQUESTING , promo , blah blah blah blah .... And , in the end , what ? NOTHING . Damn it, I just don't know .

Nile Rodgers @nilerodgers Gonna try something NEW tomorrow - #Music @fatboyslim #blog #Prince @avicii @adamlambert #WillSmith Daft Punk j.mp/12f27xN What a great thread today! 4Ms - not only do you have a fabulous archive - you don't even make us dig - you bring the best to us at the right time. THANKS!!!
Nile's cryptic tweet reminded me that I had not checked out KING's website. These gals have a fabulous blend (perhaps the level we were wishing for in WAG). The movie talk, and the fact that Adam recorded with them, reminded me to look back. Of course we don't want to speculate, but..........

The Lambrits @lambritsuk 1h YT Video by @sebastiaomota via @gravilarbr: Wow!!! #Trespassing - Adam Lambert in our Brazilian TV Show today!! thelambrits.co.uk/blog/?p=10898 I think this song will continue to have life for a long time despite no airplay. Why, why couldn't they have led with it as the first single? I have been outspoken in my criticism of RCA choice of singles. But I cannot imagine a situation where Trespassing gets any more airplay than FYE. Trespassing (and I love the lyrics and melody) has a retro sound and beats and would have fit in perfectly in the late 80's. RCA selected singles that would appeal to Adult Pop stations -- HAC primarily which was Adam's strongest format during FYE. It makes intellectual sense to try and repeat the WWFM path and avoid another FYE. I wonder why they did not release "Cuckoo" as a single -- it was my pick for lead single -- and it was my pick for single #3. When Adam performed Trespassing and Cuckoo on PLL, Cuckcoo went up higher on iTunes and I think with radio support (equivalent $ to a first single promo budget) I think it could have been a top 20 song. But Adam would have had to agreed to spend the money to make Cuckcoo a hit and it would have been a very risky financial decision. In any case, no way to rewrite history and clearly Adam is working on A3. Wheels are turning. I just hope that their is a lot of real music, and a bit less synthetic music, and no "vintage beat tracks"! ETA: Kamar -- I am also so glad that Adam is starting off by working with Nile!! I thank it as a great sign for the direction the wheels will go.
