Randomly thinking out-loud -- Adam decides to release a conceptual album and writes a few of his own songs which are included. The album is released and one of his own songs takes off into the stratosphere; not one of the covers (although everyone is blown away by his interpretation of the originals). IF the album has several covers RCA will choose singles from that selection - that's my reading into their sorry fearful souls, and no one will even know there are Adam's original songs there... .... it's been over 24 hours of the "rumor" and no attempt to stop the meltdown.... I am starting to make my own conclusions. 8-|.. Yes, but WE would know and so would the PTB at RCA.

Okay, a slight change of topic, but my co-worker informed me TODAY that Adam Lambert may be a judge on american idol. She saw it in the news LAST NIGHT. I asked for specifics. All she could say is she saw it in one of those stories that appear in the columns along a page online. I have no idea what website she saw this on. I know she was not searching Adam Lambert. She does not follow him. Even though we have discussed this before, it is the first time she had seen it reported.
I thought all that talk had kind of died down. It seems strange that would she would randomly come across the story on a news site.
And regarding the cover tweet...At the time he tweeted I felt he was referring to both the coverup for paps AND his reputation for doing covers. I felt it was a snide comment..I wish I could remember what was going on at the time-but I thought he might be frustrated that his covers were getting more online exposure (Stay, Is this Love, AYGMY, Mad World etc) than some of his own music had) Okay I am projecting big time here and it is only my opinion.

Interesting about the Idol mention. Could it have been an old story? I'm projecting the same way you are because that was my take on the cover tweet, too.

I could very well be mistaken, and don't have the time to check dates, but it seemed to me at the time the comment could have related to the song choice for the Angie/Adam duet on the AI finale. Many on twitter were hoping he would sing some of his own music, but it was not to be...

Interesting response from my 23 year old daughter about the cover album idea. She is not an Adam fan, just rolls her eyes at me. When I told her I was concerned about the latest talk about a covers album and that it might hurt his career. Her response was that seemed like a cool idea and she would listen to it because that music is so much better than the crap today.

The tweet was an answer to the speculation from fans about what Adam would sing on the Idol Finale with Angie. realadamlambert I Love doing covers. Right @mdmolinari ?? May 14, 2013 The Idol finale was on May 16th, they performed a cover of Titanium. I was supposed to be a secret.

@mys*&@^#r, we clearly will have to agree to disagree. I read your points both on twitter and here, and I am just not on the same page with you here.
SH has not suddenly changed from an Adam supporter to somebody who is throwing stones at him, and if there were nothing to this and she would have made that up out of thin air to get traffic to her site, it totally would be an attack. She also is a professional, who had the highest level of accuracy of all the bloggers in the past. So, now, just because that message is hard to take, she is all of a sudden throwing all her well earned credentials aside and engaging in fantasy rumor reporting or has forgotten how to tell the difference between good sources and bad ones. Naaaah. You don't get me to buy that.
Neither do I buy that neither DMG nor Adam himself nor RCA could kill this thing with one swoop if they wanted to. They could, but they don't. So that leaves us at that.
I am not going to respond to the same topic any further, because otherwise it is going to get repetitive and people who read this thread have figured out what I am saying and where your heart is. And I know it is in a good place. And I am usually hanging with you in most topics that we are discussing here, but on this one, we just have different minds. It's ok, I love you anyways. No bad feelings.
I think his recent optimism is more because he found some way to do something creatively that he can stand by as an artist even though these constraints were put on him and these ideas were accepted or approved during their recent meetings in NY. That is why I think he seems so much happier.
We, the fans, are just catching up with things that for Adam are already processed. I will just be thankful for the effort Adam puts into A3 for all of us and take it as is, and otherwise wait for the time his artistry is not caged anymore. I am sure he will still amaze us, be it with new work or with covers or a mix of both.
