Interesting response from my 23 year old daughter about the cover album idea. She is not an Adam fan, just rolls her eyes at me. When I told her I was concerned about the latest talk about a covers album and that it might hurt his career. Her response was that seemed like a cool idea and she would listen to it because that music is so much better than the crap today. Hmmm That is an interesting response. Sounds like she has some good discrimination!

First of all, Shirley has not been all that accurate recently. And I don't hate Shirley. But this story is poorly written and muddy, with no sources, even when she says there is a source, comes back later and says, RCA wouldn't comment. I would say it was a poorly written piece no matter who wrote it. Actually, Shirley is throwing stones at him. The sales figure and the supposed comment that came from ?????????? where ????????? is definitely throwing stones. The only way her article and the whole tone of it makes sense to me is if Adam is leaving RCA and she is casting them in a bad light for more announcements to come soon.

Craazyforadam wrote: "We, the fans, are just catching up with things that for Adam are already processed."And since Adam seems to be happy with what will be taking place, I'm going to try really hard to not be bothered by the roller coaster ride du jour...

Something funny in between, 1/2 OT: Yesterday my DH and I were in an open-air café near us. It was sunny and quiet and relaxed when suddenly a father two tables away from us called his little son, who played at a playground a few meters away ... "MELVIN!" Haha, I immediately started to laugh so loud that everyone around us must have thought I'm "cuckoo"!

I love his voice too.. so much.. but rap, gospel and metal?? don't think so.. 1) Adam cannot do rap and 2) don't think Adam will do gospel either .. LOL.. and 3) metal? Though he probably is listening to metal too, but don't think he's going to make an album of this genre.. IMHO Queenbert's " Somebody To Love" version was bordering on Gospel. Including the exalted preacher's motions. He could pull it off! Yes.. he can give a touch of gospel to some of his live performance and I love every bits of them and I know Adam can pull it off but I doubt he will want to do a gospel album

Can't see cover very well, but appears to be Adam. Don't know if this is new or old? ♊♛ Rabia ♛♊ xxinnirvanastay Awesome!!! RT “@violetfeline: GAHHH! Adam Lambert mag cover on PLL!!!!!! pic.twitter.com/B4NRuSTg20” That looks like Adams cover on entertainment weekly (EW), during his season of Idol. Does the tweeter mean that the screen cap is from Pretty LIttle Liars (PLL)?

@mys*&@^#r, we clearly will have to agree to disagree. I read your points both on twitter and here, and I am just not on the same page with you here. SH has not suddenly changed from an Adam supporter to somebody who is throwing stones at him, and if there were nothing to this and she would have made that up out of thin air to get traffic to her site, it totally would be an attack. She also is a professional, who had the highest level of accuracy of all the bloggers in the past. So, now, just because that message is hard to take, she is all of a sudden throwing all her well earned credentials aside and engaging in fantasy rumor reporting or has forgotten how to tell the difference between good sources and bad ones. Naaaah. You don't get me to buy that. Neither do I buy that neither DMG nor Adam himself nor RCA could kill this thing with one swoop if they wanted to. They could, but they don't. So that leaves us at that. I am not going to respond to the same topic any further, because otherwise it is going to get repetitive and people who read this thread have figured out what I am saying and where your heart is. And I know it is in a good place. And I am usually hanging with you in most topics that we are discussing here, but on this one, we just have different minds. It's ok, I love you anyways. No bad feelings. I think his recent optimism is more because he found some way to do something creatively that he can stand by as an artist even though these constraints were put on him and these ideas were accepted or approved during their recent meetings in NY. That is why I think he seems so much happier. We, the fans, are just catching up with things that for Adam are already processed. I will just be thankful for the effort Adam puts into A3 for all of us and take it as is, and otherwise wait for the time his artistry is not caged anymore. I am sure he will still amaze us, be it with new work or with covers or a mix of both. This makes no sense to me. S hirley is not now and never was an Adam fan. But I do not think she is dissing him with this story.
Adam was happy in Miami and in Pittsburgh -- before he went to New York.
Did he meet with RCA in NY? I do not recall that he did.
Most importantly, why is there any reason to think this is true? Even Shirley was vague.
One thing I know for sure, there is no chance, no chance, absolutely no chance RCA wants an album of 80's covers. No chance at all.
I think it is likely Adam might do some covers on his next album, and could even do something with an 80's concept, but that is different that an album that is as dull at "Adam Lambert sings the 80's". That might be a great PBS special but is nothing that RCA, Adam, DMG or anyone in the music business would want.
I for one will not suspend everything I know about Adam and the music business because Shirley Halperin post some vague rumor with no comment from RCA or Adam or anyone with a name to support it.
Note: A rep for Adam is not necessarily DMG.

If he was leaving RCA, he would not have "friends" give Shirley a rumor about an 80's cover album. And if RCA was dropping Adam, they would not say anything. They never do. And they would not be pushing for a non-commercial idea like this. My theory is that there are a lot of ideas floating around RCA-DMG-Adam and one of them is this braindead 80's cover album which will not see the light of day. Perhaps there is something good on that idea list.

This rumor has ruled my brain all day. I have been wondering if this kind of rumor is usually based on a kernel of truth, or are they made up out of whole cloth. I mean a scenario like this is just so extremely cynical: This site sure needs hits. Glamberts are good for hits especially if the item is negative. I know, I will say that his 3rd album will be 80s covers. I will throw in a "label source" to make it seem official. Those Glamberts are sure to storm this site! I can't imagine anyone with any integrity doing something like that which is why I have trouble completely dismissing these kinds of rumors. Also someone like SH has built up a reputation that would be but in jeopardy if she printed stories without any basis of truth. Since I agreed with what craazyforadam wrote and stated such a few pages back about SH having contacts over the years, my cup is half full in believing there could be a shred of truth to the basic concept, even if the filler is grasping, oh I don't know... as filler. Let's just say for play she really did get a "tip". Sort of a one line heads-up or idea that someone in Adam's camp/label wants to float out there, but nothing more. So... you bring in stuff that may support or relate to the idea as filler. He has done covers on tour, even though she may not stan him like we do as to every detail of this... Anyway, I agree her filler needs work and has some suspect arguments, but I just feel that there could, I say could - not is, a shard of truth to this concept... Adam has had a way of tweeting out a few words in the past for his fans to "get" when he wants to shut down a rumor, but the silence thus far is defining... I find the lack of talking about this album or what is going on to be even odd in fact, and a little to the opposite extreme of last time. He/someone/TPTB/? really have him on lock-down! Not sure why... and if there really is some truth to this I do agree, that it is better to leak it out there so fans/etal can meltdown first, then anything better than an outright 100% generic covers album will seem like good news to many...
