Not much to report this week. I'm sticking with working on my Texercise walking program, milestone 5/12, walking 1.5 miles in 29 minutes. Still working on making that consistently before moving up to the next level. I made it to aerobics once this week.
Nothing of interest to report on the healthy eating front. Tried some different recipes that aren't worth passing along. Yesterday I did improvise a stirfry lunch out of leftover "krab," asparagus, tomatoes, and artichokes and it was very good. I used garlic and olive oil and then added some lemon juice and seasoning salt at the end.

Hi Shapers! I am working on a Adam's cake for you guys. I am mainly using walkers reprsent us. So far I got three most time consuming smileys done. I had to place them 24 times for 24 different frames 3 times. Oh my eyes! Oh my headache! I really want to do this for "Shape Up" group. There are 9 more to go (based on the regular check-ins). Wish me luck!!

You're awesome Chapf! Tackling another cake after doing that wonderful one on the main thread! I absolutely love my little curler!
Only lost another .4 lbs this week, so it's definitely going slower than it used to, probably also because I'm eating more, lol! Having company all coming up weekend and then off on a week's holiday, so going to be hard to lose anything much in the coming weeks, but I'm trying to not go overboard. Even if I keep losing little bits I'll be encouraged. Walking is going well though.
See you all next week!

Chapf, can you put a swimmer on the cake? I'm a swimmer and aquarobics gal (and mowing, weeding, gardening). Otherwise, I'm really struggling this week. Too many carbs, too much TV and not enough exercise. Struggling to get back on track!!!!

Chapf, you are so incredible! Not just for the time and creativity but for the thought. Thank you so much!!!!
Goal #1 (exercise)--did great on the exercise bike this week.
Goal #2 (learn more about successful vegetarian diet)--Made a yummy Moroccan stew, which was a nice change since most veggie recipes seem to be Italian or Mexican, and it was my first time cooking with and probably eating lentils. Yay for a new protein source even if nobody else in my family liked this recipe.
Goal #3 (weight loss) --Discovered that the numbers vary a lot from day to day. Yesterday I was discouraged but today I am down 3 lbs. Could be the scale at the gym is off but I may have found a better indicator anyway. My daughter, who has no idea I am dieting, scooted up on the couch and stuck her freezing feet under me. Then she said, "Ow Mom, your bottom is getting bony!" Obviously she exaggerates but I will take what I can get!
Keep on truckin everyone!

I should have used up a lot of calories today, I was standing outside in the below freezing weather for about 5 hours and I wasn't quite dressed for it. Temp job I wasn't expecting. But on to weight loss. I don't remember what I was last week, I'm either down 2 or down 1 from that. I am -3 towards my goal of -16 so that's cool. chappy, kudos for a majorly cool shape-up b-day cake for Adam.

I was thinking about how nice it would be to be junie and live in a state with enough character to warrant a walking program named after it. So I came up with my own, named Minnesotasize, which of course has a quite different personality than Texercise. Here's my morning workout: Step 1--Put on fleece sweatshirt, parka, hat, full facial scarfing, ski gloves, and fur lined boots in less time than it takes for the dog to do it's business, which is pretty fast at -32F windchill. Step 2--Shovel any snow from driveway and scrape ice from windshield before severe frostbite sets in. Step 3--Tighten all core muscles in an attempt to stay alive while the engine of your car attempts to warms up. Step 4-- Race to get into building while maintaining enough balance to not fall on the untreatable ice. Step 5--Plow heavy shopping cart across unevenly ridged ice channels in the lot. If shopping isn't completed in less than 10 minutes, starting again at Step 2 will be necessary. Repeat as needed throughout the day. It's a wonder I'm not already ripped. Enjoy your walk today, junie!

kay, I'll have you know that it's supposed to freeze here tonight. FREEZE! The whole city is in a panic. And it might drizzle too. And SNOW. The newspaper and TV stations want us all to try to take pictures of the snow, but we'll have to be quick since the ground is warm from being in the 70s all week. So, just because we're bundling up, building a fire, and making hot chocolate because it's 50 degrees here and falling ... don't think you have it soooooo easy. School might be delayed or cancelled tomorrow if this keeps up! I was thinking of blowing off my walk because of the extreme weather conditions. But you've shamed me out of it. Which is what this thread is all about!
