This was of course one of the more interesting tracks for me. I do wonder (I believe it is) if this is the arrangement to be on the upcoming Queen album. It wouldn't make sense to not be...for Queen to arrange it one way to record and then go back and rearrange it for Adam to do.
Adam's version may be the definitive version though OF THIS arrangement depending on a few factors. I know Love Kills started as a Queen song before it ended up being a Freddie solo track. I wonder if this was the original attempt at it and if a version of this exists from then. I'm hoping that's the case. Because otherwise that means that Queen arranged it and they are now using computers to try to punch in Freddie's vocal which is quite definitively NOT singing it in ballad fashion. That could have a less than desired effect.
BUT anyways back to QAL. This actually took me a few listens to get. When I heard it at the iheart pre-tour gig, I was excited to hear it but didn't quite get it. I was probably in tune with the original version. I think the arrangement began to work a few performances later and now it stands as a great performance.
I love Adam's voice here. It's more subtle than usual and that works for him.
