Dang, it's Wednesday? Time is just flying. In the middle of birthday season now and my dad's moved in with us for the winter. I did walk a lot over the weekend and then sat in a class for two days. Today I think I stared at AFL pictures instead of going for a walk. Ah, that's where the time keeps going. My weight curve is taking a u-turn in the wrong direction.

You aren't alone guys. I'm down a little but still bouncing around most of the time. Luckily I feel a lot more like cooking when the weather is cool, so I'm trying to cook more. Not giving up!!!

The hell with weight. I am celebrating because yesterday I was able to do FULL BODY SQUATS for the first time in probably 20 years. I think I mentioned the thing with doing Myrtle's every day, where you get down on the floor and back up again using as few as possible support points. I've been doing one a day mostly every day and throwing in a few other exercises while I am down on the floor. I also have been doing knee circles as recommended for knee strength. Basically you put your feet and knees together then crouching slightly you make circles back and forth with your knees.
Three years ago when I started trying to loose weight I briefly looked at doing Tai Chi but the first stance which required simply slightly bending your knees was more than my knees could handle. If I tried a squat I could go down but there was no going up as my knees would just seemingly turn off. Not happening, no way no how. Since I started doing the Myrtle's and the knee circles I started trying a few squats here and there, starting with just minor knee bending. Yesterday I was able to do 10!!!! full, all the way down to my butt hitting my ankles squats!!!!

Hmmm, knee circles sound interesting. I assume standing with knees together but not sure what circles are exactly. I would have to hold on to something or I would be flat on the floor.

This was the post I found with the mention of knee circles. The video that plays talks about knee health but one of the first things she shows after talking about hyperextension and practicing proper stance is the knee circles. link

I read up on your on your Myrles (sit down, stand up www.katysays.com/sit-down-stand-up/) which I'll try out and found a squat challenge also blog.myfitnesspal.com/the-28-day-squat-challenge-youll-want-to-start-now/ - I'll have to start on the beginner version. But first I found the Myrtle's (hip girder series www.flotrack.org/video/199040-myrtle-routine-instructions#.VkgFpb_l8yG ) and I'll have to try them too along with all the great yoga poses your knee circle girl was doing. So many new things to try.

I've been really trying to stay conscious of what my knees are doing and making sure to not let them straighten to much when I am walking or standing and that along with the knee circles and Myrtles seems to have made a big difference fairly quickly. I haven't even gotten around to any of the other things in that video yet.
