Um. Hi all. Possible scroll alert.
I’ve been popping in and out of the thread this evening. (And I’m here every evening, even if I never post.) I can’t help but feel a bit dismayed at the, well, dismay that has been expressed regarding Rowe starting up a PF site/blog again. (And maybe I’m misinterpreting; I haven’t had a chance to read every post tonight.)
I just feel like there are enough adam fans in the world to support as many blogs as bloggers want. Like many of you, I’m a refugee from the great MJs exodus of November 2009. Lots of names that were around that time are gone. They’ve gone to twitter, they’ve gone to other sites, they’ve gone into permanent lurkdom…and yet, atop is still a wonderful place. Lots of new names and new fans are here…making atop a wonderful place. Starting a new PF will mean a new place for new fans, I don’t believe anyone expects it to be the community it once was. How can it? It will be different, it might be wonderful, but it’s not going to be what it was because the people that made it what it was are here now, for the most part. But that’s OK. There’s room in the world for another PF.
I’ll never forget how happy I was to find PF way back when, and for that I’ll be ever grateful to Rowe. I wish her all the best. And I’ll never forget the day I found atop on twitter, after PF disappeared. For that I’ll be ever grateful to Q3. Anyone who dedicates their time to supporting a fan blog or discussion forum has my respect, and I respect the decisions they may make about those boards.
I tend to be an observer rather than a participant. It doesn't mean that I don't love this place, I'm just quiet about it. :-)
Uh, yeah, anyway. That’s all. Carry on.
ETA: Well nuts. I'm kind of repeating some of the things a whole bunch of other folks have said. :-)

Mszue. Thank you! *HUG* I've been working on this project I wish I could share with you all. But it is in R.L. and I can't tear the wall down, just dig little holes. I love that Atopia is a kind of pure A.L. place for me. Freed from my other life. : )

I love reading your Sunday stuff - to the UMFteenth degree! ;D I am thankful to be a member of an Adam fan site - that has people who are beautiful in their words & are intelligent in saying such! "It's all about the LOVE", on ATop! (see SusieFierce's avi! That's what Adam is saying!) I love this place!

I just got back from Wal-Mart. I stopped in to see how they had Adam's GNT DVD/CD displayed. It was up top with all the HOT NEW RELEASES!  I over heard an employee talking with a customer about Wal-Mart not buying CD's with any bad language in them...they get the edited addition. WTF....thought I (with visions of 'Are you ready to party Motherfuckers...and 'It don't me shit if it isn't connected with love' dancing in my head). ?! So I got in a discussion with them. I asked if Adam's GNT DVD/CD was edited because I didn't see it mentioned on the CD and I would be pretty upset if I got it home and it had been edited. He said if there was any bad language in it they would only get the edited version. >:( Has any one bought the DVD there and was it altered? To the music savvy people...is it legal to do that to someones music? I am so thankful for Atopia, Q3, and all of you that make this such a 'special, fun, and interesting place to celebrate Adam. I can still remember how lost and totally alone I felt after PF just went 'poof'. Only after going to ALF did I see a post letting us PF orphans know about Atopia. I will be eternally appreciative for that post!! And I know Q3 would never let us just go 'poof'! Yay Atopia! Sorry I rambled on so long!  |

She has disappeared, but doesn't live on the mainland; she lives in Kuwait. She has not logged into twitter for more than two (probably more like three) weeks and has not updated her Tumblr; many of us have tried every means to get ahold of her (DM ... I have a cell phone number, so I texted), but she hasn't responded. Of course, she may be on holiday, but she usually lets people know her plans. I know she took Don's passing very hard and I hope she would let us know what's going on. That's why I don't just think, "Oh, she's on vacation." Which could be the case, of course, but still causes us to worry. I am glad to hear someone mention her....I was thinking of her just the other day and worrying. My landlord went to Egypt for a holiday just before the country exploded....some of his emails were pretty worrisome but he finally returned 2 days ago....I felt like I was on top of things when she kept tweeting and then it was gone. Re pf...that was my first experience with a forum and after lurking for some time I had finally started posting fairly regularly when suddenly it disappeared. I remember that I spent a whole day just finding every familiar name, or name with a pf in it, from the fanclub and sending messages...it made me feel like I was doing something! 4MSRM had set up a temporary mini 'home' blog on the fan site then Q3 came to the rescue a day or two later....whew....and Atop was born. Yeah Q3. It was such a treat to feel we had a home again. hugs all....so good to see you skylar...miss you [laugh] Were you one of the peeps who found me at AFL, sulking with a towel? Took a bit of cajoling for me to come ATOP. Needed time to finish moping in my corner. I remember there was some sort of refugee camp hangout somewheres on AFL before the move to ATOP. |
