vivlite: Well said. Well said. All the reflection and memories of PF going poof reminds me of "Where were you when the lights went out?" Anyone else remember when that was the question d'jour after the huge power outage in New York? Or, going further back, "Where were you when Neil Armstrong walked on the moon?" If we get no Adam news/pics/tweets soon, we may have to do a thread on "Where were you when you discovered PF had disappeared, and how did you find your way here?" 8-) 8-) 8-)

Since the thread runneth over with love for Atop, I'd like to share a short story. I somehow found PF when I began following Adam and was a dedicated lurker. I, too, was shocked when it went poof. My life had gone to hell at the same time and I felt adrift. It took me awhile to find Atop. I stumbled onto MJ's and kept hearing about this Atop place. One day I decided to check it out and here YOU ALL WERE! I cried, literally. And I was a lurker, for Pete sakes. I saw familiar names and personalities, jumped up and down like a ninny, and started lurking again. One day I decided to post. I did not want to be an outsider anymore. I wanted a voice that could express all the gratitude I felt for the days and nights you all kept me company and continue to do so. I wanted to laugh and cry with you. To share all things Adam and to be part of a community. You welcomed me with open arms. I my world I see whatever I am creating at a particular moment is my reality, therefore, Atop is real to me. Each person who posts here is real. The name you post is your name..whatever birthday you choose is yours. I don't differentiate. I take what you say on Atop as your truth on this board. Whatever you do outside of here is yours. We share aspects of ourselves as we see fit. I speak this because I want you to know from one person's world, what a difference all of you make. I am tickled beyond words I found you all again and that Q3 has made Atop this haven, this oasis. Never doubt that each post appearing here is being read by someone, somewhere. As that dedicated lurker, I can assure you your reach is wide. All Adam sites bring recognition to Adam and support him. For longevity, he will need support from many avenues. People are attracted to different boards for different reasons. They all have value. For me, Atop is home and 'there's no place like home'..  Aaaaaannnddd.... you just made me cry. I have just read your posts, all of you, and I think you are all so beautiful. As viv says, you are real! Real and vibrant and catty and sweet and deep and shallow and brusque and long-winded and angsty and happy and I LOVE YOU ALL!!! Good grief. Adam must tweet. |

[concerned] What is going on with Sunn (@draddee)?? Why the worry?? She's on the mainland, not Japan. Did something happen? She has disappeared, but doesn't live on the mainland; she lives in Kuwait. She has not logged into twitter for more than two (probably more like three) weeks and has not updated her Tumblr; many of us have tried every means to get ahold of her (DM ... I have a cell phone number, so I texted), but she hasn't responded. Of course, she may be on holiday, but she usually lets people know her plans. I know she took Don's passing very hard and I hope she would let us know what's going on. That's why I don't just think, "Oh, she's on vacation." Which could be the case, of course, but still causes us to worry. hasn't tweeted in three weeks??! Dear lord, she's one of the most prolific (and politically active) tweeters I've ever seen. That is frighteningly odd. Will you PLEASE let us know if you hear from her? ETA: I was so relieved to hear from four56 after her long post-earthquake absence. Now, I'm going to start worrying about another PF peep on the opposite side of the globe until she checks in..... :-/ |

My landlord went to Egypt for a holiday just before the country exploded....some of his emails were pretty worrisome but he finally returned 2 days ago....I felt like I was on top of things when she kept tweeting and then it was gone. Re pf...that was my first experience with a forum and after lurking for some time I had finally started posting fairly regularly when suddenly it disappeared. I remember that I spent a whole day just finding every familiar name, or name with a pf in it, from the fanclub and sending messages...it made me feel like I was doing something! 4MSRM had set up a temporary mini 'home' blog on the fan site then Q3 came to the rescue a day or two later....whew....and Atop was born. Yeah Q3. It was such a treat to feel we had a home again. hugs all....so good to see you skylar...miss you |
