Poor nic is sad on the concert thread since Brussels was one of her shows and the only one her husband was coming to. She's looking for hugs. Going now to find her. Be back shortly. I just delivered more beer and hugs. She's getting support from many Atoppers. Good.

So sorry for all involved, both the band and the audience! Of course not knowing any details of his condition, but I should think they'd be on much safer side is they'd cancel Milan too. Especially if there's a possibility for a rescheduled date later. Usually these things take time and by friday he might be over the worst if he stays put resting etc. Perhaps after that Brian and Roger could do a song each (TYMD, RGG ?) to alleviate Adam's load and allow for the tour to continue as planned. There is precedence. When Paul was struggling with voice issues, Brian sang I Want It All and Roger sang the rocking section of Hammer To Fall for a few gigs... The way this gig is set up it would make sense for Brian to take TYMD and then moving Ga Ga to after TYMD for Rog to tackle and then doin IWIA with adam. Anothe possibility would be to move Break Free to post AKOM and let Rog take that...either way gives adam more vocal rest. Perhaps alternate save me and wwtlf with dragon attack til he's 100%

I other news... I watched a documentary about Nile Rodgers last week (titled Nile Rodgers - Le freak). I don't know if it has been shown anywhere outside the Netherlands. It was awesome, about all his successes as a part of chic and as a produces. And as a bonus there is some Adam at the end. No direct mentions from Nile, but they are playing Lay me down. And most importantly!!!! Pharrell is talking about meeting Daft Punk, and he says around the 42:00 minute mark "When the robots asked me to come to the studio to work on Get Lucky, before it was even Get Lucky, it was just a track, they asked me to play them some stuff that I had been working on. And that's when I played them the Adam Lambert record, and I played a couple of other records..." So when Daft Punk asked Pharrell to play something that he had been working on, he played them some Adam! Before Get Lucky was Get Lucky. It is obvious by the music and the connection with Nile that there was a connection there, but I don't remember getting confirmation like this. I'm sorry, I can't rip that moment from the Dutch tv stream. If you can watch it if you're not in the Netherlands (I think not), it is at www.npo.nl/het-uur-van-de-wolf-nile-rodgers-le-freak/05-02-2015/VPWON_1232137

Don't have much to add. As others have said, bronchitis is not a disease, but a condition: infection/inflammation/swelling of the bronchial passages. It may start with a cold or with anything that irritates those passages. Once the tissues are inflamed and irritated and they produce phlegm, they are ripe to develop a bacterial infection that lingers even after the cold or other irritation is gone. I have never sung for a living. So, the solution to bronchitis for me has been rest, fluids, warm liquids, steam, and antibiotics IF it is bacterial, just like Adam. If I HAD to use my voice, there are tricks of the trade to loosen the phlegm and reduce the swelling. I am confident the drs are administering that, plus a strong cough suppressant. As I said before, the most important thing if Adam IS going to sing, is to do it very carefully. Singing with his usual power and oomph will almost certainly cause coughing. So will belting and singing full-voice in his upper register. More serious than a coughing jag is the damage that can be done pushing the cords to vibrate when they are swollen and full of crud. If you do that, you can actually cause bleeding and broken blood vessels which exacerbate the problem and can cause long term or even permanent injury. If you listen to Frankfort's concert, you can hear that when the melody goes above about a G4, where Adam's natural break is, Adam often sang an alternate note/phrase below the G4, or sang the note in a light head voice instead of a full-voice power belt. Granted, it is best to not use the voice AT ALL until the swelling and crud go down. Which is what he is doing with the rest these next couple of days. It looked to me in Frankfurt that he had very little energy. No triple spins on STL. He tried one, and then you could almost see him stop and say, "Oops, bad idea." Singing as Adam does requires a lot of physical strength and endurance, so the rest to help him recover energy is equally important for the voice.
