It is sad, and one only has to read any Idol board when an alum gets the opportunity to sing the NA at a sporting event. Eventually someone will question why literally every runner-up and winner has done it, except Adam. That question never fails to be answered over and over by those that have many reasons why he isn't the 'right' choice. Funny how out of the 29 Idol top 2 (the latest winner just did the NA at the Manny Pacquiao fight) he is the only one who isn't 'right'. SMH I though the televised sporting events, at least the football ones, require the singer to lip-sync to their own recording of the NA? Maybe Adam does not want to do that. To my knowledge no Idol alum has ever lip synced an anthem performance, but Adam possibly declining the opportunity has nothing to do with people commenting that he isn't the 'right' choice for a sporting event.

it's a problem for these people because Adam is gay. Of course, the song is perfect - notice they don't tweet about the song - they tweet about him. I think he didn't get blowback from football and basketball fans because they did not have his name on the screen like they did with hockey. I checked out the feeds for the people who made snarky comments about Adam having a song in a NHL game -- mostly these are people who are snarky. Hockey fans are different than other sports fans.I did not see one comment that indicate any of these tweeters had an issue with Adam because he was gay. They could have an issue because he is not someone who drinks PBR and eats Doritos. We are? Please enlighten us?

Another absolutely stellar show in Amsterdam. Gawd, I LOVE that voice. I enjoy it when he chats a little, but given the choice of chat or an extra song, guess which I will pick each and every time.
As to how Adam being openly gay impacts on his potential to be a superstar...... it is what it is. I am tired of angsting over it. I am blessed to have tuned in to Idol seven years ago and discovered this superhuman singer. I am blessed that he has had a very successful post-Idol career, and I have been able to see him in person three times over the years, and watch countless videos multiple times. Barring any catastrophe, I will be able to continue to see and hear Adam for years to come.
Adam has had an extraordinary career since Idol. ($10 million in earnings for one year is pretty extraordinary for a singer.) At the same time, he has been an important mover and shaker in the advancement of LGBT rights and acceptance. As otherworldly as his talent is, the fact that he has also influenced our culture is a blessing for millions who may never have heard him sing.
These are the things I choose to focus on. Now, back to Amsterdam videos, with maybe a version of WWTLF thrown in. Plus a replay of CTMBTM for good measure. Food for my soul.
I don't know how others define "success" but, for me, Adam has achieved it to the highest degree.

I can't wait for tomorrow's concert. Hoping for some surprises...what do you think the odds are Dr. Bri shows up?

So the original WTTS mentions were during the Rangers/Penguins game, but the tweets that came later were Chicago fans, so it was also played during the Blackhawks/Blues game. Does anyone know if it was played during the Red Wings/Lightning game as well?
