The single that will be released in August-September could already be done. But Adam is clearly still working on the album. They were still writing songs last week. So looks like no long vacation for Adam and Sauli. But Adam has always put in vacations -- and I am sure he will do it again. I would expect something short too. And there are so many great places he could go to for a 4 day get away, from the West Coast. Remember, Bora, Bora was a very short vacay!

Unfortunately, No! In most studies about countries' vacation times, the USA comes in at the bottom. :-/ I have a friend in Finland who has 8 weeks off this summer! Here it's usually 2 weeks, sometimes 4. Very rarely do people have more than 4 weeks vacation time. Unless you work for the federal government. I get 26 days of annual leave a year. Plus... I work AWS (Alternate Work Schedule) and get every other Friday off. If I wanted to, I could work 4-10's and have every Friday off. I was gonna tease you about being with the Feds long enough to get yer 8-hour per pay period, but I see that other peeps got it covered! ;D 'Tho I will say the other perk is (if your division allows it) is "comp time". "Comp time" is short for "compensory time" and it basically means that for every hour you earn, you can apply towards your regular time at a later date (as compared to taking extra pay as overtime). That 70-whatever hours I worked last week? Everything beyond 40 is comp time baby. I'm going to use it to take my kid to morning camp programs later in the summer. For me, I like comp time versus overtime right now because I blew all my leave last year when my husband was recovering from heart surgery. Sent both my sick leave and annual leave into negative numbers. As long as I have to work ridiculous hours on this current project, comp time lets me take time off when I get a chance while allowing my regular leave hours to "build up in the leave bank" again. Overtime pay would be nice, but the leave hours are more important.

Happy 4th of July to all my ATOP friends.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to MegGlitteryAlien and glambamm86!!
I would also like to mention that today is Lee & Scarlett Cherry's 2nd anniversary. I wonder if Adam is doing something with them since AI tour prevented him from going to the wedding and Glam Nation kept him away from the 1st anniversary.

The vacation topic is interesting. I recall the first time I worked on an IT project where we were trying to expand the business system to Europe. Since all of the project managers were US based, the original project schedule did not take into account the vast differences in vacation between US and Europe. Like what!!! We have to cancel almost all project activity scheduled for July!!!!
Also, being in the Netherlands in July and going to your favorite restaurant only to find a sign on the door that states that they have closed for three weeks. Or being in Belgium on Good Friday and the hotel restaurant is closed as well as the grocery stores. My colleague and I had to drive into the town square because at least that was open for all the tourist.
It's very different than here in the US where the only day most stores are closed is on Christmas Day.

I guess he could, but hubby and I usually celebrate anniversaries with each other, not with friends. Except for big milestones like the 25th. It kind of seemed from Alisan's tweets yesterday that she may have been babysitting, so maybe Scarlett and Lee got to have a little get away, just the two of them.

This is the first time I'm waiting for someones record so all is new to me. Well I was of course hoping for some more bora bora type or other fun vacation pictures ;D. But also he seems to have worked very hard and the promotional work sounds really exhausting.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY EVERYONE!!This vacation topic is interesting and depressing at the same time. Hah! I've always thought that a 2 week vacation per year was the law in both Canada and the US (guess not).....my son started a new job with Lockheed Martin (defense contractor for the US government) and apparently "might" get one week after a year or so. I looked at him like he had two heads when he told me.... My husband has more than five weeks vacation (accrued in Canada and "grandfathered" into his US contract when he transferred). Unfortunately, down here he's lucky to be able to take a full week at a time - and has to fight for THAT. He's been working with the same company for 37 years - so he can grumble a bit BUT my son is just damn happy to have a job! ....anyhoo.....party time!

I have worked for a couple major US-based retailers with extensive international operations -- it was always difficult to execute projects in Europe because of the work hours rules and vacation time. But Asia and Canada were just like the US with almost no work rules. I can't imagine working a "40 hour week" -- I would need to get another job to stay out of trouble.

Overtime pay would be nice, but the leave hours are more important. I do the exct same thing. I never get paid for overtime - ALWAYS ask for comp time. I have about a week of it accumulated right now.
