I'm totally with you!! I love hearing from people who were at the concert that it was great and he was amazing!! Plus I'm suffering from a serious withdrawal from QAL concert!! I need some more and fast!!😅 I'm still feeling bliss...  That concert was one of my greatest experienecs. And we were so lucky to get 2 extra songs, because there was no other show for 5 days afterwards. |

I don't know if this has already posted. I'll delete it if it has. This is Jim Beach speaking at Freddie's 70 th Birthday celebration, addressing the 'controversy' of showing a QAL video at such an event. Many of the diehard fans still see QAL as a travesty to the Queen name. It's strange how they are much more excepting of QE and Marc Martel. I have never seen the vitriol thrown on Marc Martel the way it is on Adam. Is it because QE is now performing the 'deep cuts' where as QAL is for the masses? My guess ... It is quite different to be a " tribute" band concept (and there are many Queen tribute bands) versus Adam actually performing with two of the real deal original band members. Sacrilege for some who do not get that Brian and Roger did not die ...and they enjoy recreating and playing the music they helped create in the first place. The band was not just Freddie and some band members. The Queen AND Adam Lambert title is perfect in that if just QUEEN --- it would not have been right on many levels. There would have been more backlash. The QAL way means complainers, but also acceptance. Always going to be complainers ! |

I believe it's because Adam is actually performing in Freddie's place with Brian and Rodger as Queen . Marc Martel is imitating Freddie in a cover band. Totally different in my opinion. This would be my guess as well...... after all ..... 'Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery'. |

I know I've gained a new appreciation of Queen and of Freddie through stanning Adam and when you attend a concert with those big screens you really do feel Freddie's presence. Save |
