I LOVE Adam! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Love Queen! Love Freddie! But this creeps me out! I thought I was the only one. Glad to see I'm not alone. The pic creeps me out too. When I first saw it, my gut reaction was EWWW. Funny that, because I really like almost all of Sharka's work. ITA this is creepy weird disconcerting to me. My gut reaction is very strongly negative -- and it is not rational. But just NO NO NO. I am generally uncomfortable with the Adam is Freddie stuff --- he is Adam and very, very different although there are some similarities. I am certain that Sharka worked really hard on this but Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

It's fascinating how different we all are (humans, not Adam fans!) as I saw this (Sharka's painting) and immediately tears sprang into my eyes, I was so touched. So I was surprised to read the negatives but not at all disconcerted for the reason given in my first sentence

I saw the work in proces of this art and I know how much effort Sharka put into it. And I think she made the facial expressions of Adam and Freddie so well. I really love the result of this work. I don't know, I just don't see this pic as Adam and Freddie being the same person. Or an act of submission (Adam to Freddie). I see it as Freddie's approval for all Adam's work with QAL. I can see Freddie really as a friend of Adam in this pic. (And we can read so often in comments of Queen hard core fans Freddie and Adam would have been friends had they known each other.) I think Freddie would love, admire and approve all the awesome things Adam does on stage with Brian and Roger, performing the fabulous Queen songs and giving the audience and everyone on stage so much joy, happiness, smiles. This picture is a pure understanding, humbleness and respect between Adam and Freddie for me.

While it has been said by a few people I just wanted to agree that there is little vitriol towards Marc because Marc isn't touring with B&R. ANYONE touring with B&R would get their fair share of vitriol. Paul Rodgers got a fair share of vitriol as well. He may have gotten less than Adam for 2 reasons. A. Paul is COMPLETELY a different singer. A non-campy, low blues and soul voice. So there was far less comparison. and B. He had a semi-legendary career of his own with 2 largely successful bands (Free & Bad Company) so it was more the meeting of contemporaries. While Adam is seen as someone with no real pedigree of success on his own- and like it or not - he's associated with American Idol which is considered the anti-artist type show. Marc is someone who sounds a lot like Freddie at times and is just singing in a tribute band that DOES play deep cuts as well.... Me? I liked Paul for the reasons I've stated. I loved Marc at QEX which can be a 2 hour show. I saw them a few times when they were in the US. I wish they'd come back now that they are doing the whole A Night At The Opera album. THAT would be awesome. In fact I wish QAL would do that but Brian is far too....comfortable (if I'm honest and I don't mean this negatively because he's far more than earned the right to do what he wants - too lazy) to work out the arrangements and practice on something like that...He's just happy slinging the old lady on and playing all the hits medleys they've been doing at this point. I've also liked Adam for what he brings that Paul couldn't. Hopefuly we'll get a leak or single release of the QAL recordings :D THAT is something I'd really want to hear even more than concert footage Sometimes I feel that Adam doesn't get the credit he deserves for what he brings to this whole QAL thing! First of all, I am so glad he is comfortable now with the whole thing. I've seen Paul too and don't think he brought anything special to the band. Made Queen just another band with a singer out front. Adams pedigree may not be long but it's brilliant! The anti-artist statement because of American Idol has nothing to do with talent. It's just the way he was able to break through. The snobs out there that dismiss an artist because of that are using it as an excuse to not accept him. It's almost like Brian and Roger did something to them personally when they decided to tour again. We are all enjoying the rebirth of Queen and the Brilliance of Adam that made it happen. I think we all know there would be no tour without Adam. Both B & R have said as much. So maybe a little more appreciation and less criticism is in order! No disrespect to you Talon. You are the biggest fan of Queen I know, next to me of course and yes I am devoted to Adam!!!! Without him we'd have nothing to talk about! Just for the record - I was answering the question as to why he gets vitriol from fans as I talk to many Queen fans of all sides of the equation...not specifically my view on it. I'm happy with Adam I think he fits better than Paul...BUT I also dug Paul's time with the band as well *shrug* I guess I just like hearing good music overall Another reason why Paul Rodgers may have gotten less vitriol than Adam is less "exposure". It is my understanding that his collaboration with Queen was on a smaller scale. Did they ever tour arenas or stadiums? I simply don't know. Less exposure as in less media in the US at least. I'd say they toured many of the same venues overall. No stadiums really (except the similar Ukraine gig and then one gig in Hyde Park) One definite that Adam brought is that he was much more current in todays media than Paul was.

Did they ever tour arenas or stadiums? I simply don't know. Oh yes! They did 63 shows, mostly Europe & UK. Also N America. 4 in Japan. One in Aruba. Huh? LOL! But they did not sell them all out and some areas did not sell well. And, as several reviews this time around, the acceptance of Paul as "right" for Queen songs was pretty negative sometimes. I don't believe any venues or shows had some of the huge numbers like QAL have had. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen_%2B_Paul_Rodgers_TourMost of the European/South American gigs sold approximately the same amount. America was not quite as successful
