Screw all the QAL, QPR, QE chatter, I just want to see the video of SummerSonic they screened. Keep your fingers crossed then! I'm bringing part of a review of the event over from another site from someone who is not exactly a QAL fan. 'Getting back into the night as a whole, the Q+AL showing of their Japan gig was, err, OK. I have no real issue with them doing concerts. Fred left us nearly 25 years ago, and they have every right to go on doing shows and playing the songs. They're done to a very high standard, exactly as you'd expect from Brian and Roger, and Adam does a good job carrying the songs. This is the point I'll jump off and get contrary. This was produced with ALL the hallmarks that it might well be a physical release in the not-so-distant future (glitzy end title sequences and the like, thanking everyone from the sound team to Brian's pet badger.'

MM is perfect for QE, As he sounds so much like Freddie, has similar diction too. But their is a reason why he is not singing with the real Queen. He is almost a Doppleganger. Adam is different. He posseses all the key traits Freddie had. But Freddie said you can do anything with my music, do not make me boring. I beleive he would NOT approve of MM, but he would approve of Adam. Freddie from all I hear was a fan of true talent. He would be very happy, from all I have heard from the people who knew him best what Adam is doing with his legacy, enhancing it. Brian and Roger are not looking for another Freddie, that is their past. They were not looking for anyone, Adam really is a GFG, because he was such a organic thing that happened to B and R, and the Queen legacy. You cannot force that. You cannot get any current vocalist alive and pretend to make them front Queen, and have it work. IT needs to be organic. That is why Queen + Adam Lambert works. And many former bands, and new frontman have failed. JMO. Adam has also grown into the role. Their is something different with his role as Queen now. You feel this growl in his vocals, this conviction and confidence. I have never seen before. IT is almost like Adam said the music in now inside of him, and coming out like it is rolling off the tip of his tounge. Now people are never going to suspend their disbelif. Adam is polarizing, he actually threatens ppl's memory of Freddie. Because well he is that good. MM does not, he is safe.

Another reason why Paul Rodgers may have gotten less vitriol than Adam is less "exposure". It is my understanding that his collaboration with Queen was on a smaller scale. D id they ever tour arenas or stadiums? I simply don't know. Yes they did. IIF I can remembered correctly from so many posters in here and Queenonline, I think they did the same size of arenas as QAL. Q+PR was different than Q+AL. It was mostly Queen music but also included Paul's hits from Bad Company and Free. And the audience were more mixed. Q+AL is closer to a Queen concert experience. Q+PR did two big tours, and put out one studio album and three live albums. Their most famous big event was released as a concert movie -- Ukraine in Kharkiv's Freedom Square audience 350,000 fans. It was shown in U.S. movie theaters one night only – November 6, 2008. The first tour (2005-2006) started in stadiums and then moved to arenas. Four outdoor stadium dates were scheduled for the first time in Portugal at Estadio do Restelo (Att: 30,000), at Rhein-Energie Stadion in Cologne, Germany (Att:27,500), Gelredome in Arnhem, the Netherlands (Att:25,000) and at Hyde Park in the UK (Att:65,000) in the summer of 2005. from Wikipedia. The tour was a world tour and sold well everywhere except for the US. They booked Q+PR across the US and it started out with sell outs. But bad reviews and a lack of Queen fans took it's toll over the course of the US leg of the tour. They could not even give away tickets in Portland and Seattle where they played to <5K people in arenas. They did not return to the US until Q+AL. The second tour, Rock The Cosmos Tour, opened on 12 September with an AIDS-benefit concert to an audience of over 350,000 people in Kharkiv, Ukraine. Then went to Russia, Europe, Latin America and Dubai with sellout crowds -- they just avoided North America. Regarding vitriol -- Paul, Brian and Roger got a lot of hate for the Q+PR effort. It was different than what Adam gets. But in the US -- a market where critics never embraced Queen and where the original band did not do well in the 1980's, the Q+PR effort was panned. JMHO - Q+PR was equally successful to Q+AL commercially (I believe total Q+PR attendance was higher so far, but Q+AL tix were way more expensive) but Q+AL is getting better critical reviews and better fan reviews.

I think in the beginning they did have more that one singer. I think Jeff Soto and Jenifer Espinoza were also their main vocalist. At Freddie's birthday tribute, all the band did some singing. Here is the setlist: 1). Death On Two Legs (M) 2). Lazing On A Sunday (M) 3). I'm In Love With My Car (Tyler) 4). You're My Best Friend (M) 5). '39 (Darren) 6). Sweet Lady/Drum solo (M) 7). Seaside Rendezvous (M) 8 ). The Prophet's Song (M) 9). Love Of My Life (M) 10). Good Company (Francois) 11). Bohemian Rhapsody (M)/ God Save The Queen (45:36) Encore 12).Tie Your Mother (M) 13). Don't Stop Me Now (M) 14). Under Pressure (M)(Francois) 15). Another One Bites The Dust (M)(Tyler) 16). I Was Born To Love You (M) 17). Crazy Little Thing (M) 18). Radio Ga Ga (M) 19). Somebody To Love (M) (28:47) Second Encore 20). The Show Must Go On (M) 21). WWRY (M) 22). We Are The Champions (M) I thought Marc is by far the best singer of the group and the harmonizing was far from QAL standard. Thanks for the set list. Did you got to this birthday party? I wonder if the QAL video that they played in this party was the QAL video that we've been waiting for.

Uh.. I just have to bring this over. SHΛRKΛ ☕ @creativesharka 8h8 hours ago "Adam with Freddie's spirit" is the most complicated digital painting I've ever done. But I feel so touched. It's like magic. 🎆

It appears that the Summersonic video they screened may be all ready for release. The reviewer was complaining that they had Summersonic all ready for release when there was so much stuff in the archives that he would rather see.
