I don't know if this has already posted. I'll delete it if it has. This is Jim Beach speaking at Freddie's 70 th Birthday celebration, addressing the 'controversy' of showing a QAL video at such an event. Many of the diehard fans still see QAL as a travesty to the Queen name. It's strange how they are much more excepting of QE and Marc Martel. I have never seen the vitriol thrown on Marc Martel the way it is on Adam. Is it because QE is now performing the 'deep cuts' where as QAL is for the masses? Starts at the 16.00min mark. www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jhiDgsELRIThanks for bringing this video over curly! I think and believe that Brian and Roger do make a right choice to go out and do this with Adam. When they met Adam, all of them felt the positive energy among them right away. At first it's because of Adam's voice. But now that they get to know each other so well Brian and Roger in fact found in every little thing that Adam did/does or say uncannily similar to what Freddie would've done or said. Brian said it so many times and now hearing that Roger express the same thing really got to me. I'm all . And when I heard again what Freddie told Jim before he passed away. Maybe he foresaw that this kind of problem would occur with the fans, so that's why he gave that permission to Jim. Freddie had such a big heart and so generous with his arts, I'm so glad that I'm one of his fans. Regarding QE, I looked up QE online. Their first tour was in March 2012. The process to create QE probably starting in early of 2011. I know this is Roger's project. So if he felt that MM was the right choice for them, he and Brian would've approached MM for performing with them. IF that was what happened it would be MM that performing with Queen in MTV Europe Award in Belfast. Instead they called Adam.

Plus, other that Paul Rodgers, has anyone sung 20 or so queen songs in 2 hours like adam has? Marc isn't the only singer in that show, is he? You may be confusing the We Will Rock You musical production with the Queen Extravaganza. Marc is the lead vocalist for QE. The QE experience is listed as a 90 minute show .....and having never seen it in it's entirety, I'm not sure if it has ever exceeded that. I think in the beginning they did have more that one singer. I think Jeff Soto and Jenifer Espinoza were also their main vocalist.

I thought the initial versions of QE did have multiple singers. In fact, didn't a woman sing WWTLF? And didn't Jeff Scott Soto sing in it at one point. Even though Marc is the only singer now, why does he not sing WWTLF? Also, I heard Paul could not sing all the songs in the catalog and that some keys were lowered. I remember telling my dentist I was going to a concert and he said "Who?" And I said Queen and Adam Lambert. He was a Queen fan and he said "Wow, if there is anyone who can sing those songs, it's him. He has the range". Since then whenever he sees me he asks about them, and the last time he said "Every die-hard Queen fan I know thinks it's a positive thing. No one can replace Freddie but he's the next best thing." I sometimes wonder if all these haters really are just a small group. If you look at the number of dislikes versus views on the YouTube videos, it's always a really small percentage. I think a lot of the haters are on Queen Online. I noticed very few comments there from the last few shows. Or they just give up since QAL keeps moving forward with more and more concerts/tour.

While it has been said by a few people I just wanted to agree that there is little vitriol towards Marc because Marc isn't touring with B&R. ANYONE touring with B&R would get their fair share of vitriol. Paul Rodgers got a fair share of vitriol as well. He may have gotten less than Adam for 2 reasons. A. Paul is COMPLETELY a different singer. A non-campy, low blues and soul voice. So there was far less comparison. and B. He had a semi-legendary career of his own with 2 largely successful bands (Free & Bad Company) so it was more the meeting of contemporaries. While Adam is seen as someone with no real pedigree of success on his own- and like it or not - he's associated with American Idol which is considered the anti-artist type show. Marc is someone who sounds a lot like Freddie at times and is just singing in a tribute band that DOES play deep cuts as well.... Me? I liked Paul for the reasons I've stated. I loved Marc at QEX which can be a 2 hour show. I saw them a few times when they were in the US. I wish they'd come back now that they are doing the whole A Night At The Opera album. THAT would be awesome. In fact I wish QAL would do that but Brian is far too....comfortable (if I'm honest and I don't mean this negatively because he's far more than earned the right to do what he wants - too lazy) to work out the arrangements and practice on something like that...He's just happy slinging the old lady on and playing all the hits medleys they've been doing at this point. I've also liked Adam for what he brings that Paul couldn't. Hopefuly we'll get a leak or single release of the QAL recordings :D THAT is something I'd really want to hear even more than concert footage Sometimes I feel that Adam doesn't get the credit he deserves for what he brings to this whole QAL thing! First of all, I am so glad he is comfortable now with the whole thing. I've seen Paul too and don't think he brought anything special to the band. Made Queen just another band with a singer out front. Adams pedigree may not be long but it's brilliant! The anti-artist statement because of American Idol has nothing to do with talent. It's just the way he was able to break through. The snobs out there that dismiss an artist because of that are using it as an excuse to not accept him. It's almost like Brian and Roger did something to them personally when they decided to tour again. We are all enjoying the rebirth of Queen and the Brilliance of Adam that made it happen. I think we all know there would be no tour without Adam. Both B & R have said as much. So maybe a little more appreciation and less criticism is in order! No disrespect to you Talon. You are the biggest fan of Queen I know, next to me of course and yes I am devoted to Adam!!!! Without him we'd have nothing to talk about! www.fuse.tv/2014/11/best-musicians-contestants-singing-competitions.. Quite the list of 30 stars from singing competitions. To Add Christine Aguilera,Beyonce,etc.. There are all ways to be discovered . Adam Is a very successful artist on his own & he has brought Queen and their music back to life ,and many all over the world thank him for doing so.

It is my understanding that his collaboration with Queen was on a smaller scale. Did they ever tour arenas or stadiums? I simply don't know. Oh yes! They did 63 shows, mostly Europe & UK. Also N America. 4 in Japan. One in Aruba. Huh? LOL! But they did not sell them all out and some areas did not sell well. And, as several reviews this time around, the acceptance of Paul as "right" for Queen songs was pretty negative sometimes. I don't believe any venues or shows had some of the huge numbers like QAL have had. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen_%2B_Paul_Rodgers_Tour

IIF I can remembered correctly from so many posters in here and Queenonline, I think they did the same size of arenas as QAL.

But I would think that Brian is more busy than lazy. Maybe he gives priority to other things in his life. Or maybe they have collectively decided on how much practice time they can devote to this venture. Now you wanna label someone lazy..... I would have to say that would be Adam when it comes to working out! He has admitted as much. You'd think he'd be motivated by the results. I normally wouldn't care or notice much but after someone posted that pic of him in the red top from the last qal tour I just want to shake him! Such potential. sigh

Is there a You Tube version of the earlier XFactor promo video where the judges have the cards and are answering questions? (have seen the screen shots) The one on the XFactor site never loaded right for me. I am still on the previous thread, so if it has been posted already, I will come to it. But just wondered if there is one out there. Thanks in advance! I am also hoping for that promo to show up on YT! I couldn't load it too (tried two different devices) ! If you haven't already, try a different browser. Puffin seems to open many more contrary videos than most.

Lazing On A Sunday (M) 3). I'm In Love With My Car (Tyler) 4). You're My Best Friend (M) 5). '39 (Darren) 6). Sweet Lady/Drum solo (M) 7). Seaside Rendezvous (M) 8 ). The Prophet's Song (M) 9). Love Of My Life (M) 10). Good Company (Francois) 11). Bohemian Rhapsody (M)/ God Save The Queen (45:36) Encore 12).Tie Your Mother (M) 13). Don't Stop Me Now (M) 14). Under Pressure (M)(Francois) 15). Another One Bites The Dust (M)(Tyler) 16). I Was Born To Love You (M) 17). Crazy Little Thing (M) 18). Radio Ga Ga (M) 19). Somebody To Love (M) (28:47) Second Encore 20). The Show Must Go On (M) 21). WWRY (M) 22). We Are The Champions (M) I thought Marc is by far the best singer of the group and the harmonizing was far from QAL standard.
