Alright, I really hope that I don't offend anyone, but from visiting at least three Adam fan sites as well as twitter, I think I have to rant or something, as I'm becoming increasingly bewildered at the memo everywhere that Adam is isolating or ignoring his fan base and that they're gonna go and away and leave him because he's not regularly tweeting once or more times a day. I think that fans have gotten a bit spoiled by those frequent twitter parties that he have done when he got his million followers. Correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I've followed him, Adam never seemed to be that much of a prolific twitterer. I mean wasn't it a joke among his fans that he only used twitter to clear up rumors, explaining himself in cleaning up the rumors, promoting other artists and the weather? And I would also put ranting in there to get away cray stalker fans who dissed, and jumped on his loved ones. Even during Idol, with the exception of Feeling Good, we never got a leak of a song that he was going to sing for the following week, we were all surprised and elated on the day of the performances. We know how much Adam loves to stun and surprise us, and considering we knew what airport terminal and that it was in Miami that Adam was at just by looking at the picture of the restaurant in the background and knowing where he was at on vacation cause he was standing by the brochures to Bora Bora , I think that he probably knows how good his fans are at finding any information that he leaks out, no matter how small it is. Being as someone who really loves to be surprised and hate to be spoiled, by knowing the ending, or key elements of books, movies, shows etc., even thought it's a bit dry at times, I'm really enjoying the fact that he keeping almost everything close to the vest until near release time. ITA. Now I don't want to offend anyone else either but I need to rant. Frankly all the whining is annoying to the ninth degree. And entitled. And everything that drives me nuts about fandom and makes me wanna just run away screaming and forget about it completely. Dude has a job to too and his job is to finish an awesome album and get it out in a timely manner. His job is not to tweet certain fans or tweet just for the sake of tweeting so people don't have meltdowns about how he is "ignoring them". Social media is important but it's up to him when and how he chooses to use it. Maybe some of these entitled fans need to go out and find something else to fill their time. It's not that deep and srsly I am thisclose to just chucking my Twitter because all I see are tweets and RT's asking Adam when oh when he is gonna tweet again. Do other fandoms do this? Srsly? Do they--I rlly wanna know if this is standard?? I wonder what would be an appropriate tweet that would please people? A "Hi!" a "Had a taco today. It was good." or perhaps "Pick up <insert artists name here>album! It's insane yo!" Or would people still not be satisfied? GAH! Fandom really is just.....yeah. Sorry for the rant...I...I just have seen some really entitled and anger inducing tweets lately and it's like nails on a chalkboard. Maybe fans could just take up knitting or something. YMMV. |

Maybe some fans are doing it in all good fun. I was just letting it all pass, but after going from site to site, and reading huge paragraphs in long posts of Adam going the way of Clay Aiken, of being desolate with his fans and keeping quiet only until he's trying to sell us his product etc, I don't know I guess it just got to me, when it wasn't the obvious trolls who were saying this, but rather, the long time, hardcore Adam fans and posters. I guess it just seemed rather entitled to me, especially as I feel that Adam doesn't owe me anything but music and what ever else he choice to share is just gravy. |

How about if we leave the angst from other sites on those sites? When some of the same OTT fans are not happy with Adam they threaten that he will be Clay 2. Adam is at risk of being Clay #2. Clay problem wasn't that he didn't communicate with fans -- he even blogged. His problem was fans moved on and no one bought his music. It happens to all kinds of musicians -- not just Idols. And if there is a ton of fan angst over Adam it is not on Twitter. Alright, this is hilarious haha Oh, I remember that -- it was when you had to ask for a glass of water in the restaurants. And they encouraged people to order bottled water. The rest is history!! Now even in places in the US with great water (like NoLa and NYC) people order bottled water. |
